I believe i am being charged exorbitant fees for connection of my propane tank. situation: I have propane for my range top. There is NO pilot on the range (we light the burners when the propane is turned on. When my propane tank ran out, my dealer insisted (for the first time in 25 years) that I needed an expensive professional to test the propane (connection (because the propane had run out). I am trying to figure out exactly what kind of test was performed, as to my knowledge, the professional was on my premises--and only outside at the tank, never inside the house at all--for a total of maybe 8 minutes. What is the procedure for testing such a line4

How fast did the propane run out? If there was a leak (which would cause the propane tank to empty a lot faster than normal use) you would be able to smell it. You can check for leaks yourself using soapy water; apply soapy water to the connection and look for bubbles...bubbles means there is a leak...no bubbles means everything is good. I think you got ripped off but I won't know for sure unless you can tell how fast the propane ran out.

Huh, why did you give me only two thumbs? I told you how you could test it yourself and I asked you how fast the tank emptied. You didn't answer back but you give me two thumbs? Didn't you read the last line where I said, "...I won't know for sure until you can tell how fast the propane ran out."

The only test he could ahve performed is the same one I described to you...that you can do yourself. Why were you so quick to give me only two thumbs?

Wanting to change propane stove to natural gas, need parts to do that

Most ranges can be converted with the orfices being changed.Newer ranges have the orfices under the top.Older ranges can be convetrted by drilling the orfices larger.(propane orfices are smaller than natural gas.Sears can sell you a conversion kit if you know the model and serial #.Most Gas companies will convert it for a fee.

I have a full tank of propane - my pilot light is sparking but it will not light? Any ideas on what to check? Thank you, Korby

Korby, I think you meant, your ignitor is sparking and you're not getting gas to the pilot. Since you have a full tank of propane, I can rule out that the tank is empty. However, I believe the tank or at least the tank valve is playing a role in this.

Turn the tank valve completely OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow Motion, slow) until the valve is fully open. Then light the pilot as you normally would. If the pilot lights, you solved the problem. If it didn't, either the pilot light is clogged and needs to be cleaned or the heater's hose/regulator assembly needs to be replaced.

Endless Summer Patio Heaters are made by Blue Rhino. So, if you need parts, that's where you can get them. Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

I need to convert a Endless Summer Blue Rhino patio heater Mod. No. 233010 from naturalm gas to propane , what do i need

You would need new pilot and main burner orifices. You would also have to ask the dealer/manufacturer if the valve on the propane heater will work with propane. It may not because the propane tank will have to be connected to the heater using an LP hose and regulator. You would then need to take apart the heater to install the new orifices. Considering the cost of a new heater that is set up for LP, I do not believe the conversion to be practical.

How do you start the oven on a Hardwick propane range?

The bottom part of the stove in the front has a drawer you pull out which has a broiler tray located there. You should be able to fold the door down and use a flash light to look inside . You will find a pilot light set-up there.
The stove I have has the pilot gas on all the time, so as soon as you turn on the gas to the range, the pilot gas is open to atmosphere.
I just light a match and reach in to where the gas piping can be seen and the pilot flame will light.
There is only a small amount of gas coming from the pilot orifice, so there isn't any danger lighting it when the gas is first turned on at the tank.
In fact you may have to wait a few minutes for it to light at first because the propane line maybe full of air. I usually light the top burners of the stove first and by that time the pilot gas for the oven is ok to light.

Iwant to change from natural gas to propane, wehat

If you live WAY out in the sticks, all you need is a tank of propane and the reqired fittings,BUT,if you live in the good old suburbs or the city you'd better have the gas company do the job. After all they have to shut off the gas feed to your house anyway. Good luck,Dana

DCS commercial range #36-6-1L running propane. 6 burner tops light fine, but the oven has just stopped lighting after 7 years. When I try to relight the pilot light (depress red button, click cliker) it...

You might need a new thermocouple. The thermocouple tells the oven that the pilot is lit and that it is ok to let gas into the oven. It is the metal rod that is connected to the pilot. They are fairly cheap and easy to install.

Propane not getting to oven... stove top works fine..

The pilot light must be lit and stay lit before you will have any propane coming into the oven. This is a safety feature.
