Question about Acer Aspire 5050-3242 Notebook
I know this laptop is a bit dated (over 1 year) but I seem to be having problems not with the computer itself but with the AC charger.
My laptop works fine from a system point of view but when I plug it in to charge or use, it seems to be picking up the charge only some of the time.
what I mean is when I plug it in and it says that it is charging it keeps switching from AC power to batt. power causing a blink effect...is this a software problem or does it sound more like a loose charger that only picks up the adapter some of the time I am still under warranty but want to know if it is a simple program fix if not do you think it is a internal hardware problem with the charger itself.
when it does charge it does hold the charge it just keeps blinking between charge and batt power WHILE charging.
Very likely a problem with the connection between the power pack and the laptop itself. This is usually the weakest point, and often you need to wiggle the connection a little to get a good connection.
It is usually just a solder joint that breaks, but it is a lot of work to get fixed on most laptops so get it replaced under warranty.
