Why does my Coolpix overexpose images when zoomed in?

If you zoom in then press the shutter down halfway. If you zoom with the shutter pressed half way you can get an over exposed image.

Digital camera won't focus

I see your camera has a focus area. If you have a subject with enough contrasting parts in this area, the focusing should work fine.
You must know that not every subject can be focused on as quick or as good as you would like. If there are little contrasting lines in the subject, or when it is getting dark or there are dark and light parts in the focus area, that don't belong together, every camera can have problems to focus correct. Changing the ISO settings won't change anything for the auto focus.
But special when you try to shoot in almost dark places, you camera will have lots of work to focus and in most cases it won't work at all.

You could try to place an object with light and dark lines, on the same distance as the object you want to picture. Then by pressing the shutter half, when focusing on the object with much contrast, you can look if the camera can focus. If it is in focus, keep the shutter pressed half way down, while moving to the object you want to shoot a picture of. Once you have every thing in the frame as you want it, press the shutter complete.

When half press the shutter button, the camera immedietly snaps a picture, it does not focus on the object or get the correct exposure.

Yeah, why did you half press the shutter? When you take a photo, you should press the shutter with force quickly.I think you didn't set your Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 Camera at a proper mode for the scene, shot with a correct the next time.Wish helpful to you.

Hi I find my shutter speed is slow.. I take a picture of a slow moving object and by the time the photo is taken, the object has moved out of frame

You need to press the shutter button half-way and allow the camera to lock in the focus (it will beep) and then, when the moment is right, press the rest of the way....result....instant picture...no delay.

Error .press shutter release button again

did a shoot on friday and came home and downloaded all the pics and then I went to do a shoot today and my camera wouldnt work. When you go to take a shot the shutter closes and then and error comes up and says press shutter button again to release. This opens the shutter back up. The picture it takes is only the bottom half of the object you are shooting....any ideas of what I can do to fix this? I have only had my camera 30 days so I have no clue what it could be.

Time lag between focusing and shooting causes missed phot ops

First of all, all point and shoot cameras suffer from "shutter lag". You can Google that for more info. To minimize it, press the shutter button half-way and lock in the focus. Then, press the rest of the way when the time is right. Your camera will be about 0.5 to 0.8 seconds behind the actual press of the button.

How to get manual focus on Olympus Camedia C-750 ultra zoom digital camera

TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTITf correct focus cannot be obtained
When the subject to be focused is not on the AF target mark (not positioned
in the center of the composition), you can use the following steps to obtain the
correct focus on the subject. This operation is referred to as "focus lock".
Determine the position of the subject after focusing (Focus Lock)
1 Press the power switch.
• The camera turns on in the shooting
mode.
• The lens extends and the monitor turns
on.
• The orange lamp lights.
2 Turn the mode dial and select a
shooting mode.
"Shooting mode" (P.36)
3 Position the AF target mark on
the subject you want to focus on.
• When shooting a hard-to-focus
subject, point the camera at an object
about the same distance away as the
subject.
Press the shutter button halfway
until the green lamp lights.
• When the green lamp lights steadily,
the focus and the exposure are locked.
• When the green lamp blinks, the focus
and exposure are not locked. Release
your finger from the shutter button, reposition
your subject and press the
shutter button halfway again.
5 Keeping the shutter button
pressed halfway, recompose
your shot.
6 Press the shutter button fully.
Try the above, info from D-535, C-370 and X-450.
I can email you the complete manual if this works.
Regards
Phillip

Canon sd 550 (and sd 200) shutter speed

If you check out a review site such as www.steves digi cams. com or even the Canon site to check out the spec of the camera to discover what shutter speeds are available. When shooting fast moving subjects try panning the camera on the object as you press the release this will[to a degree] keep the primary image sharp[ish] whilst blurring the background
