Your best bet would be to go to autozone or advanced auto and get the haynes manual for your car. It can tell you what to do with pictures.

Stock CD Player won't turn on.

Hi Jesse,

Since you have done this numerous times, so you know the installation process. It seems there's something wrong with the aftermarket CD player, try replacing it with another one.

Alpine head unit CDE-9870 will not play sound through speakers of a 2003 pontiac vibe. what could be some issues to cause this?

This generation of Vibe may have the upgraded audio system installed from the factory. In order to get the audio from an aftermarket radio to play through the factory amp, the factory remote turn-on lead must be located. If you are using an adapter harness, it may have the wire installed, just attach the blue/white stripe wire from the Alpine to the blue or blue/white stripe wire on the aftermarket harness adapter.

How do I wire my tape and cd player to same speakers?

There are really only 2 options.

#1 Buy a fm modulated CD changer. This will allow you to play CD's over a FM frequency, and will use your factory radio as the output.

#2 Again you can buy a stand alone FM modulator with RCA inputs, and use an aftermarket CD/DVD player as a source.

04 silverado fm radio works but cd player dosen't or any info

Had the same problem with my 2004. Replaced the stock radio with a aftermarket pioneer unit. If you replace it make sure you by the aftermarket harness so it will plug right in and all your chimes will work.

I AM TRYIN TO INSTALL AN AFTERMARKET CD PLAYER IN MY 2006 CHEVY C

Some cobalts have the controls on the radio - some on the steering wheel depending on your trim level.

After you have the 2 side panels off - the radio trim will simply pull off in the same manner.

03 vibe cd player will not respond

I blew a fuse controlling the radio, charging system, turn signals, heater fan, ,etc..this ran down my battery.

When I replaced the fuse, the CD player would not respond, but the radio worked.

I disconnected the battery for over 30 seconds, hooked it back up, and the time reset on the radio to 12:00 and the CD player works again.

Stereo removal

you will need to unscrew your dash and pull off the front plate of your dash, then you will need to unscrew the stock radio, then you will need to go ahead and pull out the adapter from the back of your radio. Next you will need to attach your adapter harness to your car harness and splice the color coded wires to the harness on your new cd player. After that, you will need to plug your antenna back into your new cd player, Note that some cd players will require an adapter, these can be found at circuit city or at your local car dealerships.-Shocker
