You can try hard reset to see if that will clear it. With the unit powered on, pull the battery out.

How do you a system restore after the blue screen of death?

Turn on your computer, when the first screen of anything comes up, hit F10 or F12 on your keyboard so that it can open in Safe Mode. When in Safe Mode, it will open up ugly looking and large print and icons, but that's okay. Go to Control Panel, hit system restore, or System to reach System restore, and try to restore it to an earlier date. Save all your documents, photos, videos on a USB drive, and then get a new computer. This one is dying and close to death.
Hope this helps.

Red light of doooooommmmmm with "Can not start- correct hard disk not found message." Tried reinstalling old 60G HD, got to startup screen, wave, music then freezy-death-boom! No work, yellow light flash...

You have fallen victim to the totally not awsum wickedness of the blinking red light of death. Long story short the system is broken due to overheating which caused heat damage to the motherboard and you have a few options:

1. send the system to sony and receive a refurbished system for $150.

2.find a local to do it for much cheaper vids on the web ( and fix it yourself but it is fairly difficult
. a new ps3.

p.s. The jumper,it seems, is used to "jump" files from device to device.(I don't beleive it will help your case, sorry)

I hope I have helped and please feel free to ask me any questions and let me know how it goes.

I have the dreaded ''blue screen of death'' but can use my safe mode for networking. help????

What operating system are you running?

Most blue screens are caused by a hardware issue. If your happy to do so, strip your PC down to the bare basics. Remove all RAM apart from one module, and PCI cards except graphics and remove mouse and keyboard.

If it now boots up OK, you know one of the things have disconnected was causing the problem! Plug each one in one by one. Also, you can try Fixing the master boot record, or booting from your Windows CD and using the repair functions

Sidekick 3: System crash and big X, won't start up

HOW TO DO A MASTER RESET ON A SIDEKICK 3 NOTE: Performing this will restore your device back to factory defaults, meaning you'll loose everything on your sidekick!
1. Remove the battery and the SIM card from the device. 2. Flip the sidekick open; press and hold the letter 'r' on the keypad. 3. While holding the letter 'r', place the battery back in the device. DO NOT INSERT THE SIM CARD YET. 4. The sidekick will restart itself twice. Please make sure not to let the letter 'r' go until it has fully rebooted. 5. Once it has fully rebooted, remove the battery, re-insert the SIM card and battery and power up the device. 6. Once the device has fully rebooted, all prior information should be erased from the device and it should be restored back to the default factory settings.

Installing XP on HP m8120n

The Blue Screen of Death (also known as a stop error, BSOD, bluescreen, or Blue Screen of Doom) is an error screen displayed by some operating systems, most notably Microsoft Windows, after encountering a critical system error which can cause the system to shut down, to prevent damage.
Bluescreens on NT-based Windows systems can be caused by poorly written device drivers or malfunctioning hardware. In the Win9x era, incompatible DLLs or bugs in the kernel of the operating system could also cause bluescreens.
Bluescreens can also be caused by physical faults such as faulty memory, power supply issues, overheating of components, or hardware running beyond its specification limits. Bluescreens have been present in all Windows-based operating systems since Windows 3.1; earlier, OS/2 and MS-DOS suffered the Black Screen of Death, and early builds of Windows Vista displayed the Red Screen of Death after a boot loader error.

I hope it helps!!!

Sidekick 3

Emulating a Hard Reset
The Sidekick 3 now will commit memory-resident DataStores to flash memory when the device is powered down or rebooted normally. This greatly reduces the incidence of "hard reset" resyncing of the device which enhances user experience, however it makes it more difficult for developers to test this functionality on the device. You can simulate a hard reset on the device two ways: 1) Yank the battery out of the device without shutting it down. This will force a hard reset of the device, but it's not recommended as this can also potentially corrupt files on the miniSD card if they're being written when this happens. 2) (recommended) Follow the steps below to clear the datastores off and simulate a hard reset:
- Reboot the device by pressing @+1+0
- IMMEDIATELY press and hold the 'R' key on the keyboard. Continue to hold the 'R' key down
- The device will reboot, and when the initial boot screen (the 4 face buttons animation shows) displays, the screen will clear and the device will reboot again.
- Let go of the 'R' key at this point, and the device will reboot with no datastores, and force a resync.
