Howdy,
With red light blinking either the lamp door is not closed properly or you have a bad lamp.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Hello, I have a 42"

Sounds like a backlight is out. If its still under warranty, exchange it. First try unplugging it for two minutes to reset the t.v.

Hello, I have an 56' Mitsubishi 1080I television. Model #55859. We moved the TV across the room last night and now we cannot get it to turn on. All we can get is a flashing green timer light on the front,...

Hi rteague2566,

The flashing light indicates something is wrong. Have you tried pushing AV reset button on the front panel of the TV. You may even try the little pin hole reset by the power button too. I think you may have bumped or, vibrate it to hard in the move and, caused the lamp or lead wires to become lose or, unseated. You may have even damaged it. Did you move this TV when it was still warm? Is the light blinking fast and, can you hear anything going on inside. Usually the DM board fails or, a few capacitors need replaced with this model.

If you still can't get the TV to turn on after the reset buttons have been pushed. Can you read the blink code. It should blink, blink, pause, blink, blink, blink. That would be a blink code of 23. Count the blinks in between the pauses. Let me know what code you get. If it just blinks real fast it is probably the DM. I kind of think you may just need to re-solder the leads. A DM cost about $250 with labor. When you plug back in and turn the TV on, let it blink for a few minutes, it might come back on. I'll wait for your response to give further instructions.

Tv won't turn on. It blinks green then red.

Hi,
Question shows tv is Sony KDF-60WF655.
Green light blinks when tv gets prepare to fire up lamp, check internal circuits then show picture on front screen.
Red light blinking shows some kind of internal problem during circuit check and protection got activated upon some failure.
Count the red light blink as you will see 3 second long pause and post it here to diagnose what section of tv got problem.
Did you replaced its lamp in last 2-3 years?
Thanks.

Power light keeps blinking Red and TV will not turn on

Is the light blinking constantly or is there a long pause then more blinking. If constant check the lamp door switch . Usually it is broken or jammed. If you jumper it and the set comes on that it. 4 blinks is bad fan.

I can't get my tv to turn on... nothing but blinking red light

Dont know if this will work for you or not, but my brother gave me his because of the same problem. It would power up and a green light would come on, then after 10 -15 seconds it would change to a red blinking light. I plugged a usb cable into the service port on the side and left the other end unplugged. Then plugged the tv back into the power. i took a small screwdriver and ran across the contacts in the end of the usb cable until both the red light and the green lights came on. I did this several times listening fot the clicking noises in the TV. after doing this for approx 20 seconds, i pressed the power button and the TV worked fine. 5 days now and no problems. Only thing I can think is I somehow reset the software and now it is working fine. Hope some of you can figure this out and give it a try. if the TV is just sitting, you have nothing to lose
