Question about Bissell 3594 CleanView PowerTrak Bagless Upright Vacuum

Vacuum doesn't suck (boy, what a problem :D!)

Seriously, it survived the move across country with some pretty rough-handed movers. The belt is in place, brush moves around but it just won't pick up anything - carpet or bare floor. Suggestions anyone?

Re: vacuum doesn't suck (boy, what a problem :D!)

First, check the suction at the end of the hose and make sure there is good pull. On some models, there is a filter tray located under the dirt cup with a washable foam filter in it that could be plugged. It is also possible that the tray could have fallen out during your move. If it is missing, the motor will run, but won't direct the suction to the cup and you won't get any suction from the hose. Note.. not all models have this tray. If the tray is missing, you shouldn't get any suction from the hose.

Hi I have a dirt devil vision. Hose works, but does not vacuuming the floor. Belts are not broken. Larger belt is moving, smaller belt that moves the brushes does not.

hi krueger, sorry for the problems but hers an idea how about turning on the vacuum and put your hand under the part where it sucks uo the dirt off the floor and i guessing you would have a little suction, since the brushes are not moving its going to not pick up as well as it should my guess is that the belts need to be replaced even if one is moving, i would change both belt to be sure and also are you smelling a burning smell if so then that would prove fact to needing new belts, hope this helps, Jamie

Bottom agitator brush bar doesn't rotate.

First, check to make sure the brush bar is on. The switch is right next to the machine's on-off button, and it is easy to accidentally turn it off when you turn the DC 25 on or off.

Next, check for and clear any obstructions in the brush bar housing.

Finally, check for belt wear and replace if necessary. There is a very video online showing the procedure.

Our Riccar SupraLite Upright Vac used to glide across the floor so easily, but now we have to push it pretty hard. This just recently started. What can be wrong?

Suggest you check the wheels to see if they are moving freely. Also check the beater brush to see that it is moving freely. Be sure the belt has not broken. If it has, replace with a new one. Also take the time to clean the beater brush of any debris and spray a little WD40 on both ends of the beater brush axle.

The brushes move freely by hand but wont spin

It could be the clutch that causing your problems. What you should do is take it to a repair shop and have it looked at and see if that's the problem.

Ran across shoe lace and when I pulled it out the beater bar quit rotating

just cut the sholace part that you can see... it will get it into a lot of small peices and just pull out the smaler laces

Motor not turning

Don't forget, the agitator bursh doesn't work when the vacuum is upright. Maybe that is your problem.
