How to adjust contrast on dell 610

From this web site:
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000594.htm
How do I adjust my brightness or contrast on my laptop? Every laptop is different, so adjusting the brightness or contrast on your laptop may vary from the steps provided on this page. However, understanding the process of how to adjust the brightness or contrast will help you change your settings.
Most laptops adjust their brightness and other settings using the function key in conjunction with another key. For example, pressing and holding the function key (abbreviated as "Fn") and pressing the up or down arrow keys as shown in the picture below, increases and decreases the brightness.
laptop-brightness-keys.jpg
Other examples also shown in the above picture include pressing Fn and F1 and F2 or F7 and F8 to increase and decrease the brightness. If none of the above examples resemble your keyboard look for keys on the keyboard that have pictures of a sun or a half moon to identify the correct key to adjust the brightness.
How can I adjust the laptop contrast? Laptops only allow users to adjust the brightness of their screen. Contrast settings are not adjustable on a laptop display.
How do I save the new adjusted settings? After adjusting your laptops brightness it will retain the new settings.
Laptop brightness is still not enough or screen is black If after following the above steps your brightness is still not enough, plug your laptop into the wall to make sure it is not a power setting that is decreasing the brightness. If the laptop is plugged in but still is not bright enough, try the suggestions on the below link.

My sharp 32c540 picture is dark since i bought it brand new 6 years ago.

You may just have to make a different kind of adjustment.

This is what is called a direct view or crt type TV.

Inside on the main board (see attached photo) is the "flyback" transformer.

Note the two little controls embedded in it----top one is focus--leave it alone.

Lower one is SCREEN and a very slight upwards or right adjustment will bring the overall brightness up.

You want to adjust it just till with brightness on set all the way up you have a normal picture.

Too much and you get excessive brightness and trace lines and or further too much shuts set off.

Some sets have two holes in back of cabinet and small tool can get in and adjust the LOWER or screen control and others the back has to be removed.

Lay set face down on padded surface, remove back screws and set upright---do not touch anything inside with set on when you make the adjustment--control is plastic and a plastic tool a good idea--I have used regular screwdriver but know what not to do.

Let me know if you have questions 98% chance just need the Master Screen bumped up a little bit.

Bought T30 used about 5 years ago, neeeded to change CMOS but has a Lock. Took out Yellow CMS battery to clear CMOS. Now can not get in computter at all. Please I am 62 years of age and enjoy my samll...

Sorry to hear of your problem. I'm not too familiar with the T30, I jumped over that series and went from the E600/X600 directly to the T4X. I'm going to guess that the T30 is similar to the X600 as it was IBM in the same era. When I've replaced the CMOS in the 600, you have to sett all of the time and date clocks all over again. You should get a couple of error codes on the screen followed by an entry into the bios.

Hi I have just bought an Acer Aspire Z5710 all-in-one PC. I find the screen too bright when working for long, and want to adjust the brightness. But i am not able to figure out how to do so. And there is...

I have looked at all of the available pictures of this model PC and all of the images show a Fn key on the lower left side of the keyboard. It is one key to the right of the Ctrl key (the bottom right key on the keyboard)

Let me know if you need anything else.

Hello, how can I adjust my screen brightness????

Most laptops have several buttons on the keyboard that can adjust the screen brightness.
1. Find the "Function" key on your keyboard and hold it down. 2. Find the brightness up and down buttons on your keyboard. In this picture, they are on the F7 and F8 key. 3. While holding down the function button, press the key that has the "brightness up" picture on it, similar to the icon on the F8 key in the picture. . bradisright.jpg

Screen Brightness

windows 8 to 10 have the brightness control in the action center or power settings or look in the charms bar if your using windows 8 or 8.1 (note: if brightness doesnt change it maybe due to the OS not knowing how to change the brightness let me know if that ends up being the case)

Would you please advise how to adjust the brightness settings.when i go to the menu button i can get the various settings but i am unable to make any changes.please advise. thanks

Hi; the upper part of your keyboard closest to the screen or the last row of keys contains a BRIGHTNESS key...

Press and hold the Fn key (usually italic and purple color) and press the Brightness (sometimes depicted by a bright bulb) key and observe if there's a change in brightness...remember to hold down the Fn key while adjusting the brightness. I hope this helps since you did not mention computer type or keyboard arrangement!

i dont know this exact model, but i can advice you based on a slightly diffrent model. i hope the solution will be valid for your model as well: TV is digital controlled and have to be adjusted via service menu except the external focus and screen on back of (flyback) high voltage transformer. This is one you can try: Need plastic allen or plastic small flat blade screwdriver to fit these. Focus is top, bottom is the screen that set the overall brightness. Before adjusting, go in menu: press menu once, select picture quality, I think number 4, press 2 for "preset..", press 2 again to select normal. Back out by pressing zero repeatedly. It may ask you to save new settings, select yes. If screen is adjusted too bright, picture look lousy (washed out) the blacks will light up (becomes grey, or visible lines) this means you have actual fault that prevents you to get decent pix, that when it is time to take it in for repair.
