Most DVRs do not allow you to view cameras remotely on a Mac. Since you did not tell us what DVR or what computer you are using, there are too many variables to discuss. Contact me directly if you need help.

Reset linksys router

General Linksys has a reset button on the back on the unit. Its really small and recessed into the unit. To cause the reset to happen do the following:

1 Get a pen/paperclip something small and pointy and hold down the reset button
2 after 20-30 seconds of holding button down you will notice a change in the lights in the front once you see this unplug the unit and wait 5 seconds.
3 Plug unit back in and you should be good to go

On some units if you enter into a web browser you can enter into the admin controls and do a restore to factory defaults and worse case if you need to you can flash the unit (this will also update the system to its latest firmware)

The linksys utility always sends signal to PC speakers, even when wmb54g unit shows connected. The wmb54g and router are up-to-date and run WEP 128 security encoding. The wmb54g flashes faster when...

I can disable the sound card, set the music bridge as the default sound output device and it works just fine (after rebooting). But if I enable the sound card again, even when keeping the music bridge as the default, the sound goes exclusively to the PC speakers, no matter what device the connection is switched to on the Linksys utility. (By the way the music bridge shows correctly to be connected or disconnected....with no effect on the sound output.) The major hassle is that any usable change of output device requires a reboot. Still testing. Not a single answer from the community. Also I never required the promised temporary password.

How can i set up a security password for my wireless access point

Are you asking how to set the login password to the router or how to turn on encryption for the wireless network so that any wireless user has to provide an authentication key when connecting to your network?

In either case, the user manual generally gives clear instructions and most companies provide those manuals online. Start here and enter your s/n at the bottom. If you turn on encryption, write your key down because you also will need to configure your pc or laptop wireless with that key to connect in the future.

Can't get network connection using XE 102 and WGX 102. Have Mac computer and a linksys router. In room with the router, I pick up the linksys network on my MacBookPro laptop. Installed (hardwire) XE 102...

If you are able to pick signals on the laptop, i am sure that your router & mac book are good.

there are only two possibilities to work on ;

1.) look for any interference between the router & computer in the other room like ( refrigerators, television, Music systems, AC, Thermostats)... by pass 'em if required.

2.) The installation of the reciver on the Mac book might require a range setting.

Will a computer with 10/10 LAN connect to my wireless LAN?

The 10/100 LAN is a wired connection. If it is connected to the wrt54g through an ethernet cable yes it will see anything on the wireless connection but if you want the computer to use a wireless connection then you will need to get an 802.11B or 802.11G wireless adapter. The wireless adapter does not have to be Linksys but it does generally make thing easier if you use all the same brand.
