Burning a DVD

posted by lostperson on Jan 13, 2008

I made 4 videos and downloaded them to the computer. when I try to burn them to a DVD I am told that " one or more files could not be added to a compilation". I tried burning each video separately and no luck. I can burn them to a CD which will play on my computer but not on my TV via dvdplayer. I am using Nero . Can you help me?

I followed all the directions.
I could not change "view" to details
Folder options couldn't help me either.
Maybe I'm not doing it right. Can you explain again?
I have the same problem.

What format are the files? There are many different formats for files. Usually if you download them they will be divx or something of such matter; This is why you can only play them on your computer. To play them on a DVD player you'll need to change the format, usually known as re-encoding, then record to a DVD disc. Some DVD players allow video on cd's usually known as VCD, or Video Compact Disk. That also requires re-encoding. to find out what type of format it is you'll need to change the "view" in the upper task bar to "details". Then if the file extension does not show up then you have to go into the folder menu which is "tools"->"folder options"-> "View" tab -> uncheck "Hide extentions for known file types" then press "OK". Then post the file extension here. example: "filename.avi" the second part is the file extension. in this case it is ".avi"
