    Under product line, click notebook.
    Under product, click aspire 3100
    Under download, click Broadcom 802.11b+g

  • Peter Burns Jan 14, 2008

Open control panel, then network and sharing center. Click manage network connections.

Do you see a Wireless network connection there? If so,right click, then connect/disconnect. If it wont connect, click diagnose and then see what it says.

Surely to load XP is a DownGrade. As this notebook is dual core, I would run Vista 64 or better still Windows 7 64.
If you wish to persist with an old system, you require SP3 for XP.That may be available from a software store but is no longer supported by Windows.
Try for drivers that you will require to have support from Acer.

Hope that clarifies your situation.

I want to have xp on my vista gateway laptop

Hello, Its really hard to downgrade from vista to XP on dell laptops. vista and XP use completely different drivers and dell has stopped writing drivers for XP. But still you can downgrade. You need to setup external SATA harddrive from where your XP CD should boot as it wont boot from your current harddrive that has vista. Even if you set these up and downgrade, Since dell has stopped writing drivers your new XP will not work with many new softwares and applications as you wont have drivers for them. I would advice you to use Vista. Good luck, Please rate the solution. ~regards, Jegan

Yes you will get all the drivers here
However only Vista Premium and Vista Ultimate users can perform a direct downgrade. You can start a fresh installation from a bootable disk of WinXP. Be aware that this will replace the Vista with XP.

Win xp drivers for acer aspire2920z loptop

I have downgrade two different Acer machines to XP successfully.

The Acer Support Website can be very hard to navigate. Try this link;

Select "Notebooks", scroll down until you come to the 2920z, see if you can find your specific hardware items. The list includes both Vista and XP drivers.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Good Luck

XP Downgrade

You need to start windows setup straight from cd. To do so you may need to change the boot sequence from bios. You will also need a bootable windows xp cd (not the upgrade version). Setup xp as new installation. Ensure you can get all necessary drivers and software for windows xp.

Hint: Vista works fine if it has enough ram memory, and you wont lose your valid licence and all software provided with vista.

Acer Aspire 9300-3716 Hardware trouble after downgrading from Vista to XP.

You can download the drivers directly from Acer.

Just choose "drivers and downloads"
Then "notebook"
Then "Aspire 9300"

On the right window, you will see available drivers. Once you highlight each one, you will see what operating system it is for in the "download details" window.
