Replacing Canon PC720 Toner cartridge change

I got a Canon PC720 copier at a garage sale - the toner cartridge in it is almost empty. I have another cartridge, but I can't figure out how to get the old one out - when I tilt open the top, I can see that there is a large piece of plastic holding it in place.
I tried to wiggle all sorts of parts, but no luck - I don't want to use.
I have a photo of the inside of the copier - if you give me eMail address, I can send you a scan - that may facilitate discussion.
Thanks - Ulf

Re: Replacing Canon PC720 Toner cartridge change

Not sure if you found this out yet.

The cartridge just slides out. When you lift the latch you will see the cartridge has lifted too. All you need to do is pull the cartridge toward you. It slides right out.

Copies come out blank.

several possibility of problem are:
- empty toner (you must check it)
- moist paper (solution = the copies which come out blank return to paper case, to use again. it is mean to use not moist paper)
- lifetime of the drum is over.

Error low toner canon mf5870 nd

> low toner

It means that the toner-cartridge, which holds the dry toner-ink, is nearly empty.

Remove the toner-cartridge, and gently roll it from side-to-side -- DO NOT SHAKE IT.

Replace it, and use it, until it's completely empty. Then, buy a new toner-cartridge.

Canon monochrome laser LBP3108b printer cartrige can be refill?

I would not advise on refilling a toner cartridge, the toner power is very fine and you do not want to breath in this toner powder.
You can purchase a new toner cartridge or a recharged toner cartridge these are cheaper than a new cartridge.
You can get a few more print pages out of a empty toner cartridge by shaking the toner cartridge in a horizontal position and inserting back into the printer.

The Waste toner is full, the copier will not work until you have emptied it or replaced it.
The waste toner is in the front, open front cover and the white bottle in the middle is the waste toner cartridge. Remove the black screw, and empty or replace the cartridge.
If you empty it make sure to clean the see-trough plastic on the top of it so that the sensor sees that it is empty.

Canon Pc720 Copier Paper Jam

The problem with the paper jam (but not feeding) is that a small
piece of plastic that holds one end of a spring the causes the feed
gears to push against the powered gear on the back side of the toner
cartridge breaks off. So the unit does not feed (no pickup rollers
etc) and it thinks there is a paper jam (no moving paper). Orienting
the front as the side you work at, the back being the back, the
feed being the side the paper goes into and the output being the
side the finished copy comes out, open the unit. Looking into it
from the output side almost to the input on the bottom notice the
small hairlike things sticking up. Move to the left (back of the
machine) and see a few white gears all hooked into this gray metal
housing that moves up and down about 1/2 inch (It pivots). At the
top input side of this metal you will see a part of the metal that
stick up and has a small slot in it. the spring used to hook onto
this and the other end hooked to a small piece of plastic down and
more to the input side a bit, onto the upper input side of the white
plastic part that houses a shaft to a roller (fat little spring
about 1 inch long). the plastic part breaks off and you usually
can't see that a part was even there. The spring will still be in
the area. If you are handy, you can figure out how to fix it. I got
a longer spring (same strength) bent the metal toward the back 1/4"
and ran the new spring from there to a 1/16 hole I drilled in the
plastic side next to the circuit board (down low and back). I shaped
the end of the spring (where I drilled)to keep it more inside and
not hit anything. Works fine.

Adding toner

Inside the front cover on the top right, is there a toner hopper that swings out? From the looks of the repl toner, it should be a sealed hopper. When the cartridge is locked onto the hopporit will release the latch for the toner hopper. There are usually very simple pictures on the inside of the door or toner box.
