Re: washing machine is not emptying

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be nice.

I have a top load kenmore oasis washing machine that is leaking from behind the control panel. When removing the panel cover I found standing water ... Any suggestions ?

While I was using a certain brand of washing machine and dryer, there was a small compartment that would fill with water located under both machines, and would spill everywhere if not emptied out before each use. It is possible this may be the case. I would look around for anywhere for a compartment that needs emptying, or possibly any loose plumbing in the back.

I do have the exact same problem. Please help. Also, there is a button that shows a spinning sign with an X over it. What does this key option mean?

Fills with water, drains, will not spin. sometimes will not fill

This is almost certainly the filter to the empty pump blocked. When you power up the machine, the first thing it does is make sure there is no water left over in the tub, if it can't evacuate any water it finds there, it won't go any further. Same on a spin, if after a set time the water hasn't emptied the empty cycle will stop but the spine cycle wont start because there is still water in the drum.

Locate and clean your empty pump filter.

the problem here is the machine is not emptying when its supposed to, you will find it is stopping at the rinse cycles. there is a sump underneath the machine that needs to be emptied. From my experiences, 9 out of 10 hotpoints that i would of repaired with the same problem as you are having is usualy caused by using the color catcher sheets, they are a disaster.

Wont spin

Probably down to the water not emptying from the machine in the empty cycle and the machine won't spin because there's still water in the drum. If this is the case, the root of the problem is almost certainly a blocked filter, restricting the draining of the water and not allowing it all to pump out in time during the empty cycle. You probably need to find and clean your filter.

there is a little motor in the selector switch that moves the dial around.  This little motor is defective and needs replacement.  Sometimes it's sold separately and sometimes you need the whole timer.

Zanusi washing machine

If you get rid of the water from the drum chances are that the door lock will then release. Try taking the outlet pipe and laying it down over a bowl to catch the water. If it empties then the door should open in a minute or so. If it does not empty then the pump is probably blocked, and you would need to remove the hose from the bottom of the drum where it connects to the pump, but make sure you either take it outside to do it, or you do it over a bowl to catch the water, and have plenty of towels to mop up the flood. It sounds like the drum bearings have gone and the bits have gone into the pump, or filter.
