Xp blue and black screen

I am using a Fujitsu notebook and have problems with blue screen popping up and before I can even start reading it computer starts rebooting and sometimes starts windows xp for about 15-20 min. then blue screen again, shuts down, restarts, and sometimes black screen comes up with "start in safe mode or last known good mode" How can I fix without re-formatting hard drive and reloading everything. I recently downloaded software from Sony Ericsson on their 580i cell phone and I think that is what corrupted XP. I have since uninstalled and still can't fix. Also, window pops up, "serious error...send error report? I have ran "System Mechanic 6" a free trial download from a lot of times but no fix yet.

To tom19511: The blue screen would only come on for about 2 seconds each time and I could not read fast enough. The screen would then go black and then attempt to restart windows. Each time this happened windows would sometimes start but sometimes a black screen with white letters would appear that would say that it would start windows again in 30 seconds or I could arrow to a different mode such as "safe mode"

Well, tonight I have had the Fujitsu S Series Lifebook on now for about 3 hours and it is running stable with no blue screens. What did I do? I took it into my other room and set it up next to my desktop computer and have been looking for answers on my desktop while making changes on my laptop. Laptop seems to be working fine now. At this time I am running "System Mechanic 6" again to check if it will continue to be stable.

To tom19511: I remember now. I uninstalled some other stuff from the Sony Ericsson 580i cell phone and cleaned up some other junk. We will see and I will let you know. CaptDave

captdave, Does it give you an error on the blue screen, and can you post what the error says. It sounds you may have a hardware(video, overheating) or virus problem.

Shine a light against the screen when you power it on. If you can read anything on the screen then it is a back light or inverter failure. Hook up an external monitor to it if you can and see if that helps show anything.

When i turn on my computer it loads for ever then the screen turns black the this blue thing pop up so fast that i cant read it then i dont even get to play on my acer computer

Windows is severely corrupted - too late to fix it. You must reinstall it by pressing the Alt + F10 keys at Startup to commence the Recovery Process. If this fails it means that the entire hard disk has been corrupted and in that case you will have to use the Recovery CD that came with the laptop.

4. The PC restarts and follow the instructions on the screen. (Press any key to boot from the CD).
5.After system has finished, such will happen <Enter-To Continue R-Repair ESC-Cancel>.
6. Choose R to repair.
7. A black screen pops up, just read and type 1 and wait for the next step (password).

When I switch on power, system will ON but black screen some times its ON with Fujitsu logo then a strip of white line & afterwords black screen

At boot up press F2 and enter the BIOS. Here from the first Menu see if the HDD is being read as that seems to be the problem that you are facing. The control is not reading the HDD and hence it does not go beyond the Fujitsu Logo. If the HDD is being read then probably the Windows has gone corrupt and would need re installation.
If HDD is not being read then you must show it to a professional.

Sorry, but there's no real way to troubleshoot this without actually having the device. The problem you describe could be anything from a simple corrupted system32 driver or MBR (master boot record), to a hardware failure. The simplest thing you could try is to boot from your OS installation CD/DVD, reinstall the OS, and re-install your applications. Next would be to re-format the boot drive and restore your data from your most recent backup. Sorry I don't have better news for you.

Laptop starts and after a while of using a blue error box falshes on the screen and turns off comp I can't even read the blue box its sooo quick!

That is called the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death).
try a chkdsk:

Take the Windows XP disk. Boot from it, then DO NOT select F2 (automated system recovery) but continue through the procedure until you get to the point where you can choose between installing Windows XP and entering the Recovery Console. Once you get into the Recovery Console, do chkdsk and fix potential errors on your disks! Type Chkdsk C: /R at the prompt.

Or try a XP repair:

XP repair
When you boot with the Win XP install CD-ROM, it loads a minimal operating system, similar to DOS, but compatible with Win XP. At the first screen you select install Win XP (not Recovery Console) and at the next screen it will find that you already have Win XP and offer to attempt a repair. This repair should not touch your Applications or data; it just reinstalls the Windows files. This is great because when it works you don't need to reinstall all your software.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

I’m happy to assist further over the phone at

Hi there
Firstly reinstall the graphics drivers, if its still the same there is a problem with the graphics card and you'll have to have it looked at.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!
