Question about Xerox Phaser 8560DN Laser Printer

Phaser 8560 won't communicate with me or my computer

I was trying to eliminate white stripes for a job I'm doing for tomorrow. After my printer printed the two pages, it stopped doing anything. I knew that I had to change my maintenace kit in about 500 pages, so I thought if I changed it before that, it would be okay. It wasn't. Then I opened the top cover to see if I needed ink. I didn't. I closed the top cover, but my priinter keeps telling me to close the top cover. (for the last 3 hours) What should I do??? This is a disaster for me. Thanks for any help you can provide.

New Phaser 8560 Solid Ink technology from Xerox. Better Prints, lower printing costs & less Ink Cartridge Waste.

why don't you try this solid ink from xerox aside from better prints, you can saved more time and money, bec. you can print in seconds only.

What you can try is making sure the ink sticks are fully in the loaded position. They may be keeping that cover from closing totally.
The other thing is the actuator on that cover, may have briken off and is not properly actuating the sensor that tells the machine the cover is closed.
Make sure the ink is fully forward, and look at the covers for some area of beoken plastic.

Slightly light streaks, not stripes.

On the screen you need to scroll to troubleshooting and then to eliminate light stripes, and eliminate smears. Run those a couple of times each.
Then check the maintenance kit.

Someone installed the "Printing Scout" on this computer. You may need to uninstall or check all the settings in the printer driver. I'm not really familiar with Macs but I know the 8560 inside out, upside down, and backwards.

Phaser 8560 error code

Most likely you are using generic ink or ink not made for that specific machine. The black ink is the one causing the problem. the printer will then need to be reset.

Phaser 8560 magenta ink not transfering to paper

Hi jbasset285: Your printhead may be bad do to third party ink.
Try these steps first.
Diagnosing Print-Quality Problems
The Troubleshooting Print-Quality Page provides a good overview of the most
common print quality problems. To print the Troubleshooting Print-Quality Page,
follow these steps:
1. From the Control Panel, scroll to Troubleshooting, then press OK.
2. Scroll to Print Quality Problems, then press OK.
3. Scroll to Troubleshooting Print Quality Page, then press OK.
The Troubleshooting Print Quality Page includes instructions for printing the
Eliminate Light Stripes test print. These instructions are also provided on the next
page of this manual. The Eliminate Light Stripes test print indicates individual weak
or missing jets or an obstruction in the imaging path that affects a vertical band down
the entire page. Also, you may see color variation from jet to jet on the Eliminate
Light Stripes test print. Some variation is normal, occasionally occurs, and usually
self-corrects within a few printed pages. If a print-quality problem is not resolved
with the information provided in the Diagnosing Print-Quality

Xerox Phaser 8400N Printing Stripes

When you go into the eliminate light stripes there is also a mode called Jet Substitution. You can sometimes bypass the bad jets.
If that does not work then the print head will most likely need to be replaced.
You can replace the printer for less than the cost of a print head normally..
