Question about Microtek SCANMAKER 5900 Flatbed Scanner
MY scanmaker 5900 works fine on Mac OS9 machine, but it can not find the scanner when I use it on Classic 9 on my G5 Imac. It does the same thing when I install the OS 10 version. When I first got the scanner it worked fine. Now I get nothing. Also the installation log says the software was successfully loaded.

Microtek's last version was for 10.4 and is worth trying on 10.6.
Otherwise the popular VueScan supports virtually every scanner on the market. There is a free trial version to test your scanner here. http://www.hamrick.com http://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/vuescan.htm#microtek
I've used VueScan for over 5 years and it's much easier to use than than Silverfast. The only downside is you can't scan from inside PhotoShop etc. as it's a standalone application and not a plugin
