Hi. I just tried importing my images from my canon 7d to my mac computer using the eos utility and it quit unexpectedly. I then tried again and any option I chose would reply with the word busy on the bottom right of the eos screen. Please help. I've tried various times to get it the eos utility to work but it doesn't import the images. I used another program (iPhoto), and it worked fine. This tells me that the camera is working fine but the problem lies within the EOS utility. Please let me know how to solve this problem. Thank you.

Based on the information you provided, it seems that issue is with the EOS Utility itself.

Uninstall the EOS Utility, restart the Computer and then install the EOS Utility again.

This should resolve the issue.

If the issue persists, check for any update for the EOS Utility and install the update to resolve the issue.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to put Canon EOS 7D video to iPad?

Like the 5D Mark II the 7D shoots H.264 codec. This must be compressed to a smaller size for iPad syncing or converted to a friendly codec for iMovie.

For iPad,

1. Transfer .MOV files to your Mac via USB.

2. Use Canon MOV Compressor to slow the 60fps down to 24 using frame controls.

3. Sync converted movies to iPad via iTunes

For iMovie,

Just convert Canon 7D to AIC for iMovie editing. iMovie supported best video format is AIC Codec MOV format, you can edit video with this format in iMovie smoothly without rendering,

Eos utility for canon powershot s5 is Mac Lion

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

I want to download HD movie clips shot on Canon 7D to a Mac. How do I do that?

Use a separate card reader to download to a folder you create on your desktop. From there, you can open them in imovie, Quicktime, or any other video program.

Importing Images

The CR2 suffix means that the picture was taken in the RAW file format, a proprietary format. This requires that the images be processed by a software conversion to be 'readable' by the computer. The EOS Utility software that came with the camera will work, as well as a number of third-party software packages. GOOGLE "raw file conversion Canon digital rebel" to see the options.

The other option is to take your photos in JPEG format (not RAW). Your computer can 'read' any JPEG format image.

Switched to MAC - have EOS40D and SX100 - will not download SX100

Yes, you need to install the SX100 driver software as well. I wouldn't overwrite older versions of the Canon software, though, so do a selective install if you can.

EOS Utility does not recoganize Canon Rebel Xti

I believe there are 2 modes of usb transfer that you can pick in the camera. They are set somewhere in the menu in the options. If you go through the menus thoroughly you'll find it. One option is for connecting the camera directly to a printer and the other is for computer transfer (there might also be an Auto setting but I don't remember for sure). Make sure that setting is set for computer transfer. If that doesn't fix your problem, re-install or update EOS Utility / ZoomBrowser.
