Question about Canon CanoScan LiDE 25 Flatbed Scanner

Canon LiDE 25 scanner locked - can't unlock


The Canon LiDE 25 scanner has a lock switch on the
bottom. My scanner is currently unlocked. But, the
software says that the scanner is locked and I can't scan.
Perhaps the scanner really is locked and the switch
is broken. How do I get inside the scanner to fix this
problem. Maybe I just need to buy another scanner.

    canoscan Lide 25 is unlocked but the message box says that the scanoscan is lucked. I tried several times to disconnect the cable and lock and unlock the button but it didn't worked out. I would be glad if you tell how to fix the problem. Thanks in advance.

    same problem on 2 Vista pcs. deleted and reinstalled software still says locked. But with ubuntu linux scanner worked immediately when plugged in . recognised scanner with no problems. Did not need to install anything!!

    i have this problem with a 600f which i bought to replace a 300f which did the same thing. i thought the 300f must have been knocked, but the 600f has been used just twice.

    will never buy from canon again

    We own several of the Lide 25 scanners. They all have the false locked message problem, no matter what PC. Vista, XP, linux it dosn't matter. These scanners are cheap for a reason.

hi. there is a small lock slide in the bottom of that model. be sure it is in the unlock position

Canon CanoScan LiDE 100 Flatbed Scanner Release lock switch

Beneath the scanner is a lock switch, ensure that it is in the unlocked position.

If it is in the unlocked position and it still displays this error message then you will need to get a technician to free the reader assembly and give it a clean. Not too big a job. It's a good little scanner I enjoy mine, even after the same thing happened to it.

I cannot use scanner Lide 25.. because show error : "release the lock switch,detach the I/F cable and reconnect" How solution?

Sounds like the scan head is locked. This is usually done so you can transport the scanner without bouncing the scan head out of alignment. Look under the scanner and you will see it. Make sure it's in the UNLOCKED position. You may need to power the unit off/on to reset it or restart your computer to get a fresh attempt at the scanner.

Release the lock switch, detach the I/F cable

try this

1. at the back of the scanner there is lock try to release that one (slide to unlock)
2. uninsall the system and re-install again
3. check the usb port of your computer
