Try and find a better/different adapter, maybe one the is specific for the PS3 or gaming in general. Don't use one of those universal ones, could fry your PS3.

Not sure what kind of outlet/plugs you guys have out there (I'm in Canada, eh) but I've provided a couple of links that should help you out. Personally, NYKO is a great choice, quality stuff and they have lots of accessories for the PS3.

Due to the volt difference; Europe (220v) vs. Canada & US (110v)
you MIGHT also need a power converter. Check the console, it will probably be able to handle 110v-220v but double check to be sure. I have heard all kinds of answers and opinions about it but best to check your PS3 yourself. If it odesn't support both voltages then you will also need to get a power converter.

the only real way to confirm this is to have the fuel pressure checked out using a fuel pressure gage.it could also be a convertor plugging up in which case you can check the exhaust backpressure tested to see if it is.another way is to hit the convertor to see if you hear a rattle inside,if so the convertor material is breaking up and causing the exhaust to be plugged.some of the material could have travelled down the exhaust and is causing a problem.

4 fans bought in April from Costco and pac tested. 1 makes a a funny sound when plugged and does not work.. Can this be brought to a centre to be repaired as a callout cost 55 pounds Many thanks Mrs...

It sounds like you bought these items online from Costco, unless you have a Costco close by. Using the term "pounds" tells me you are in England someplace. A repair shop should be able to repair the problem easily and quickly. The noise you hear might be from the motor that is trying to start. Did you try a different power supply to see if the problem is your power outlet? You might try that. Cheers.

Why isn't my ps3 not working. I plugged it into my HDTV in my living room, then plugged it into my normal TV and now it's not working?

You need to reset the A/V out settings.
Have your PS3 in standby mode (solid red light). Press and hold the power button, you will hear one beep (power on), then you will hear another beep (reset). Release the button at this point and the video should reset and work on your standard TV using the red/white/yellow RCA cord.
Thank you!

Try to RESTORE FILE SYSTEM.
Follow this guide.

HOW TO GO TO THE RECOVERY MENU OF PS3 SYSTEM

1. Make sure the ps3 is plugged in (stand by mode).
2. Put out your usb cable for the controller and the controller itself (do not connect yet).
3. Hold down power firmly, ps3 will turn on and then turn off, release power button when it turns off.
4. Hold down power again, you will hear a beep and then a double beep, when you hear that double beep release the power button.
5. Now you should be seeing something in your monitor that say "Connect usb controller", do just that.
6. After connecting the controller press PS button.
7. You are now in the recovery menu.
8. To fix the problem of corrupt data you can choose #3.
9. If you want to format your hard drive choose #5. Be aware that this option will delete everything that is in your hard drive.
10. Remember that doing #3 and #5 is not 100% to fix the problem of corrupt data, I say about 70%.

American PS3 in South Africa

Hey thomas952,

While they may not be region-coded, PS3 consoles and games sold within the United States are going to be NSTC compliant, instead of the PAL format used in the United Kingdom and South Africa. What this means is that in order for any game to display properly (or even operate) it must be purchased from the same region of the world as the console itself - NTSC games can only be played on NTSC consoles.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
