Hello, It might be that you've had one of the electic heating elements fail. In order to determine if that's the case, you'll need to be able to use a multi-meter and check both the upper and lower heating elements.

This has to be done with the electric power turned off to the water heater, so you can check for an "open" condition of the heating elements. The meter should be set to the Ohms setting or if it has a continuity setting with a buzzer, you can use that.

Once you've made sure that the power is off, by turning off the double pole breaker for the water heater, you can remove the top and bottom cover plates on the side of the unit. There are two (2) fasteners that hold them on the cabinet. Once you have them out and the cover off, you'll have to push aside the insulation to get to the connections on the elements.

I think you'll want to start by checking the top element, as that sounds like the one that has failed. The top element is the one that helps the water heater recover quickly when hot water is being consumed.

To check the element, put the test probes on each connection point of the element and if the element is bad, you will get a reading that is less than zero, since a failed or open element, will not have low resistance, but rather, with the water as a conductor in a failed condition, will have a higher resistance.

You can also check the lower element and compare the readings to confirm that the upper element has failed.

In order to replace the failed element, you will need to shut off both of the water valves cmoing into and leaving the unit. Then you'll have to drain the water heater to below the element you need to replace, and remove the failed element by removing the two wires connected to it and using a large pair of channel lock or adjustable wrench, turn the element out of the water heater tank.

Now just reverse the above to install the new element, follow the instructions provided for tightening the new element and reconnect the wires. Open up the water valves and allow the tank to fill. Once it's filled, you'll have to open up the pressure relief valve to allow the air in the tank to escape. You'll want to have a bucket handy as you'll get some water flowing out of the relief valve, as the air is forced out.

Now you can turn on the electrical breaker and allow the water heater to recover and you should be all set.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Open the lower compartment on the water heater, should only one screw....lookin at this picture its the blue rectangle at the bottom..after its open you will see a flat head screw, turn it clockwise to increase water temp..120 is the highest you should use. and if thats not it..one element may be out ...its an easy fix and you can buy them at lowes or home depot...elements are located under the 2 blue rectange doors on the picture

My water heater heats everything except my lower shower

Let's walk our way thru this one: I assume you have an upstairs shower, and a downstairs shower?-- Are you able to follow the pipes coming out of the Hot Water Heater?-- Can you trace where the pipes to the upstairs shower go?-- And what about the pipes to the lower shower? -- Do they BOTH come off the HOT water pipes coming out of the top of the HW Heater?
A big help in tracing pipes, is by having the hot water run in the Shower that is getting HOT water-- Feel the HOT! pipe?-- Now-- shut that water off, and go to the lower shower-- When it is running, can you hear water flowing out of the pipes at the top of the Hot Water Tanks?-- or do you feel Cold water moving-- Can you travels where it is flowing from? Get back with me, and tell me what you are feeling, and hearing-- Mack B

Atwood water heater electronic ignition

Copy following link for possible troubleshoot resources:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Atwood-water-heater-resources.html
Might want to call service technician instead of messing with gas appliance.
Or sent to service center.
Install 20 gallon under counter electric water heater and connect to 120Volt... 1500 watt element will heat water pretty quickly. To have more hot available, turn up water heater thermostat, then that will give 2 showers because more cold will be added to very hot water, thereby stretching amount of available hot..

On demand hot water heater gets cold for a short while during showers.

Check for crossover.
Bad single-handle faucet cartridge causes cold water to enter hot pipe, so hot never arrives and tankless does not run consistAntly

Hi there, I have a bosch aquastar 125b waterless tank. My problem is that i am not getting hot water at all. The water runs during the shower and it stays warm. HELP!!

This should run two showers at once with no problem. If you have a shut off valve on the cold side of the heater, try closing about halfway. This will slow the water flow and the water will have more time to heat up as it pases through the tank. If you dont have a shut off valve, just cut back the hot water valve on your shower and do not use any cold water. If it gets too hot then turn on a little cold water. The object is to slow the speed of the water going through the tank. Tankless heater take a little getting use to but they work great when you know how to treat them. On my shower I turn the hot all the way on until it gets hot and then add a little cold water to bring the temp down. You may have too much water going through too fast to be able to heat it up to what you need. Try this and see how it works.

Why does water suddenly go cold during shower? It only happens in master bath... guest bath shower does not cause same problem. I have to go outside and unplug and plug back in heater to get it to start...

Try running the hot water in the sink while you have the shower. If the water in the shower stays hot, then the problem is not enough flow through the water heater to keep the heater running. I am guessing that the master bath is further away from the water heater than the guest bath. If not I would check the shower nozzle in the master bath to see if it is clogged a bit or if it is a water saver nozzle because this will slow down the water volume and then cause the water heater to shut off the heat.

How do you fix hot water shuts off during shower with Model N-069M-OD installed December 2006?

Try flowing more hot water with your shower. During the summer you end up mixing alot of cold water and very little hot water (because your cold ground water isn't so cold in the summer). When you get close the minimum flow rate of the appliance, it will start to short cycle (fire on and off). Here's some recommended things you can do:

1) Clean the shower head - remove scale deposits and or clogging
2) Widden flow restrictor - most shower heads have a flow restrictor on the back of the showerhead; It consists of a rubber washer with a hole in the center. You can widen the hole using a drill bit.
3) remove the flow restrictor - this should be a last resort

Water turns cold very quickly

I had the EXACT same problem (installed my tankless last winter and worked fine, now this summer it fluctuates, have to turn the shower completely off and then on again to get any hot water and then it only lasts for a couple of minutes!) Argh - it is frustrating!

Here's what I found: the demand for hot water is lower during the summer (hot) months because the "cold" water coming in is already quite warm. You don't need as much hot water to make the shower temp comfortable. SO, my tankless was shutting off due to low flow demand. I've removed the flow restrictor from my shower head and it helped alot but didn't completely solve the prob. Next step is what has been recommended to me by several people but is much more expensive - change the pressure valve on your shower to a temperature valve. Or just wait til winter and it should work ok again :)

The hot water shuts off during a shower. All the

One of the problems with these has been that you must be using at least 1/2 gallon per minute for the burners to ignite. In the summer when the incoming water is already warm, we tend to not use enough hot water to keep it lit. Try turning on the hot water faucet in the sink and 'wasting' some hot water during the shower. If that fixes the problem you can find some other adjustments on the Aquastar website to help lower the temp some.
