Re: blue screen

You should check the settings to see which type of memory card you are using, xD versus Compact Flash. The default xD card that the camera comes with is very small and may not support saving the size of image you're trying to capture. If you are using a card with enough memory the card itself might be defective..

We recently got a blue HITACHI camera and we have taken a few and saved it on my P.C but it keeps saying the memory is full and there is only 1 photo

If you are using only the camera's internal memory, or if you are using a memory card, try to delete all images. You have probably already tried this so also try to 'format' the internal memory, or card, by using the camera's menus.

The method will be something like this:- In the Review menu, Setup> Format

If you are using a memory card and this does not work, then put the memory card into a PC or into a card reader and right click on the card's icon in the My Computer screen, to bring up the format options. Then re-format the card in the camera to ensure compatibility.

Memory card full but wont show any images.

The reason this occurred is that you likely never formatted the card. The card will work fine in the beginning but eventually will corrupt. AFTER you've recovered the photos, format the card in your camera to prevent this from happening again (dig out that instruction manual to figure out how). Keep in mind formatting will also totally erase your card, so again only do this AFTER you've recovered the photos.
Take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for.

You will need to use a USB flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're inexpensive these days with cost not an issue (around $2 for an SDHC portable). Just make sure that the reader that you purchase states that it's capable of reading SDHC cards.

New photo files write over existing files.

How large is your memory card? If you're shooting at the full 9mp and highest quality, that takes up a lot of room on a small card.

Problem downloading image

One of the images did not finish writing to the card properly (usually in the last 4 or 5 images, or the last video)
Try selecting all but the last 10 images and chose import selected. This should work. Then delete those from the card.
This bit is important
Put the card back in the camera (if it's in a usb reader) if not, disconnect the camera and put it into playback mode. View the remaining 10 images/video.
Try re importing and it should work fine! I've had this problem since ilife '09 and this method always fixes it. It seems to happen when the cards get full. Try not to completely fill a memory card and you should not get the problem.
