Sometimes you can configure the sensitivity of the Mouse pad from Control Panel, Go there and look for applet MOUSE, if it is hardware issue, you can visit the website of the maker of your Laptop, and go for Support Page with Drivers, specifically issued for Mouse or Touch pad or In put. Most new Computer Systems now have Online Support which can detect the Problem of your Computer. Download the Detect Software... Once you upgraded the Drivers for the Board. let us say ASUS, the Bios will fix and update your Hardware. Just be careful sometimes, this is irreversible, meaning cannot uninstall the Drivers for BIOS, or on Board Software.

One day my mouse just randomly stopped working i

sounds like the connection to the mouse might be bad. I would wiggle test the connection whether it is usb or the older style ps/2 plug.

Make sure that the bios recognizes it by going into the BIOS and poking around, if that's the way yours works. I had the same problem today when I accidentally bumped the connector for the mouse when installing a new monitor.

I've never had a mouse go bad on me, just upgraded to better ones.

I like the infrared mice that do not have a ball but use light tracking to sense movement of the mouse. These are better than mechanical ones and don't cost too much.

Good luck on finding a solution to your problem.

Advent 7088 bios battery location also keyboard and mouse not working, have reset bios and have checked keyboard connection and is ok, have tried a usb keyboard and mouse but still not working, any ideas...

First, permit me to ask, why are you wanting to get to the BIOS battery? If you have reset the BIOS from within the BIOS itself, pulling the battery will afford you little more -- except for the pain and aggravation of getting to it (it is located on the motherboard, which entails COMPLETELY disassembling the computer to get to it.)

Your problem may be another issue -- drivers for instance. Have you recently upgraded your system to Windows Vista or Windows 7?????

You may just need to reinstall the drivers (provided you haven't done a recent OS upgrade) You can download most of the drivers you need from here:{7c90be6e-56ed-4b7f-92db-7d55116ee3f1}&CatID={a56a54f2-200d-4fed-9715-bfd90ce2b39e}

Give these a try, and provide more information in your problem description -- we maybe able to help resolve a problem a lot quicker and easier than you thought!

How do i upload my bios? ?I've heard of it, and

the Bios is the chip on *********** board that works or spits out instructions on boot up - 'when you first power up your computer'. The computer get's all it's instructions from this chip on the mouse and keyboard you are using to the resolution of your screen to the size of hard drive is in your computer.
If you do not have a full understanding of how to do this upgrade and there is an urgent need to upgrade it. Leave it alone or bring it in to a qualified PC repair shop and have them do it. They would be liable if the upgrade didn't work. 'doing it 'loading an bios upgrade' wrongly can stop your Pc from working at all' and either you have to replace *********** board or find someone to replace your bios chip. Neither one very cheep of a repair.
Any more questions let me know!
