Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

Sansa e280 mp3

I have an 8gb 280 mp3, but i can only syncronize when in mtp mode, but when i try to syncronize, it immedietly disconnects, and it does that in a continuous pattern. Is there anything i can do?

    I have the same problem. I'm using Rhapsody. When I connect my e260, the device shows it's connected (arrows going back and forth). The software recognizes it too. Then, after about 10 seconds, the device will turn itself off, then turn itself back on again in repeated loops. I can't synchronize it nor can I add tracks.



    It's really frustrating. . .Nothing seems to work. Any advice would be appreciated!

    every time i plug the Sansa into the computer, the screen freezes and disconnects. It then turns back on and tries to reconnect and does this in a repeating fashion. I tried Recovery mode but nothing happened and the problem is still there. Please help!!!

Try msc. if it doesnt work try recovery mode. to do this simply connect it yto your computer, then push the hold button so the orange is showing, then push and hold record button and power button at the same time. it should go into recovery mode then you can try again.

I re-formatted my Sansa e280 and now my computer does not recognize it. I am wanting to transfer music files only, using Windows Media Player.


Try to reset the device and if there is any driver for it, install them before connecting it to the computer.

My Sansa e280 is not downloading my playlists from Windows Media. I have tried dragging and dropping the playlists from my computer music folder to the Sansa folder and it still will not write to the mp3...


Hello,
The Sansa e280 can be operated in 2 ways of USB connection modes: MSC or MTP.

In MSC mode, viewing the player as a removable disk, the "copy
and paste" or "drag and drop" method will work.
In MSC mode always through the "safely remove hardware" icon, click to remove the player's disk before taking out the USB cable.

In MTP mode, operating the player in software like Windows Media Player: under Library or Sync,
first create a playlist
next sync the playlist.
In MTP mode, follow up the warning or text in the software that gives permission when to disconnect the player.

I've sansa E280 problem is connecting to pc in mtp mode

In order to get your Sansa connected, I would change from MTP to MSC and see if your PC recognizes the player then, as it should.
If you go into the settings menu and choose USB Mode and from there you can change to MSC from MTP. If you have one of those models that don't have a USB Mode option, then do the following to change to MSC:
(The model number followed by v2 on the back-bottom require this method) you have to turn it on, put the hold switch on, then hold the LEFT button |<< THEN plug it into the PC.

I have sansa e280 8g but don't have cd. I don't have the drivers.


Did you try to update your sansa click on link and download install run connect sansa when asked.

Download install and follow instructions
Make sure the usb mode is msc You might need to try this on a labtop better 2.0 usbport once updated it should connect to your pc

When I try to sync my Sansa E280 to WMP 11 it shows error report.


It could be the mode you are in.

MTP mode seems to not synce with WMP.

But MSC mode works.

Go to settings>USB Mode>MSC

Should work!

Want to organize/delete songs but don't see them on my computer..


Change your USB Mode in the settings menu from MTP to MSC and see if it helps.

Music not synchronized


Try going to the actual file the music is in on your computer, then right click Send To sansa 250. If that doesn't work look on the options menu for USB mode and change it, that works on my 280.

Cannot create playlist


You must be in MTP mode, create a sync list in WMP, then drag the play list to the sync list of the e-280. it will create the new playlist on the e280.

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.
