Go Video DVR 5000 Says No Disc

I haven't used the DVD player for a few months. When I load a disc I can here it spinning. After almost a minute it says "NO DISC" on its display and "This Disc Cannot be played, Please check the disc" on the TV screen. I have tried many discs with the same result. I have been able to view the discs on my laptop using the CD player. Any suggestions? Should I give up and get a new DVR?

Re: Go Video DVR 5000 Says No Disc

Hi what you could try first is buying a cd lense cleaner then run this then this should remove any dust as this can cause the problem your having.
If the discs played fine before then the chances are the lense needs cleaning failing that you will probably find that the laser has stopped working but try cleaning first let me know how you get on ok

I purchased a toshiba portable dvd player and the disc is not spinning therefore reads no valid disc. I have put in a few discs still same reading? Any suggestions?

The Sled Motor is defective. this is the motor, whic spins the disc as it has been loaded properly. If the loader mechanism loads the disc properly into place and if the catch up magnet catches the disc in place, and still the dis do not spins, replace the sled motor. OK.

Player won't load any discs

I don't have a solution at this time. I have the same DVD player and mine stopped working this past weekend. It is doing the same thing as yours. I opened the case and loaded a disc and watched the mechanism. The disc won't spin. if you tap the disc it will start spinning and load and start playing. I thought I had fully fixed it. It will load most times but now the video and audio stutters as if the discs is spinning at varying rates.
