No. You never have to add oil to the unit. It's a plug and play either on low or high setting and you can adjust the temperature with the round dial. I have one as well but no instruction manual. Still looking for that.

Just saw that Duracraft was bought by Honeywell in 1996, making these heaters about 15 years old. If the oil's still good from that far back I wouldn't worry about it..

My Duracraft CZ 308 heater keeps running. I have the thermostat set at 60 degrees but it doesn't stop running. It gets very warm in my trailer

You need to stop using the heater, , the thermostat is bad and there is a risk of a fire, and no repair parts. Replacement heaters range $20-40.. Personally I would look at a different brand.

The electric cord on our Duracraft heater model CZ-600 was very hot to the touch (closest to the plug) -- it burned so hot we could not touch it for more than a second. The heat was at maximum and we...

Look carefully at the plug's connectors to see if thewre is any scorching or otherwise burnt metal...electrical connectors tend to get hot due to the plug being loose(this causes more resistance and thus more heating). As a safe bet...the parts aren't expensive...I would replace both the power cord on the heater AND the outlet recepticle

Owner left a Duracraft air heater in home, model CZ 600. I am not familiar with it, and need instructions on how to use it. Does it require water, or can I just plug it in?

Just plug it in. Water is not what is inside of unit, Oil is inside. Put the dial at the amount of heat that you are wanting to come out. Very simple poroduct to use. I have owned my unit for over 10 years now.

Duracraft oil radiator - oil leak

The leak can be repaired, it is probably the sealant has dried and cracked. A plumber can fix this, so can a mechanic, so can a gas engineer or experienced electrician. Phone round your local businesses to see who will do the job cheapest. Tell them the heater is leaking from the seal between the radiator body and the thermostat where it screws in - you just think in needs fresh sealant. Shouldn't be expensive, its a 20minute job, unscrew the thermostat, clean up the threads, dab on the sealant and screw it back together.
