My sansa e260 had a problem that it didnt play music or nothing it only played fm, if i selected music or something else it would restart and then if i pressed and option or tryed to press an option it would also restart, so i got frustrated and started messing with it, one day i saw a solution here and i tryed it, Installed the firmware updater and stuff, put it on recovery mode, and the program would not pop up in my system tray (near the clock) or nowhere else, and when i tryed to open it manually it would say that only the sansa service could open it. so i got even more frustrated and i downloaded and installed manually by mistake some firmware file called esomethingv2 ('i forgot the name all i know that i was the wrong one cuz it said v2 at the end).so i put the file on the folder 16mb format i think it is and the i disconnected it, automatically my sansa froze so i tryed restarting it by turning it off and then back on, and now my sansa e260 turns on but i get nothing on the display, the only thing that turns on is the
wheel cuz the l.e.d. of it turns on. but then nothing.... nothing turns on. so i again tryed restarting it and the same thing happened.
Please help me someone, this mp3 for me is everything...... Thanks in advance, I would really really appreciate for people to help me.

I've had this happen a couple of times in the last 6 months. You can get it to play again by chosing the format option from the settings menu. Of course, then you've lost everything you had loaded on to it. Download your music/audio books again and they will play.
For everyone having e260 problems here is the answer. First make sure that you have your usb mode on msc before plugging in to the computer. Then go to folder options and select show hidden folders. You now have access to the music folders and can delete music. You can create a new folder or use the music folder for your music. To prevent future problems go to properties on the hidden folders and unhide them.
Sounds like you have two problems here. First my guess is your files bought from walmart are corrupted some how. just delete the ones that are giving you fits and call it a day. Second you mentioned it wont even sync music,,,, Are you saying none of your music or just the walmart ones ?
Did you use your own cd's?
If so, did you use Windows Media Player to copy (rip) them to your computer?
Windows Media Player, by default, has "copy protect my music" selected. To remove this, in Windows Media Player select Tools>Options>Rip Music and un-check the copy protect my music mark.
You will need to delete the music you already transferred, then re-copy the music without protection, then re-transfer them to your device.
Best of Luck.
If you used Windows Media Player to "rip" (copy) the music to your computer. The default settings are to "copy protect my music" if you didnt change this setting, the Sansa will want a "license" to go with it.
Resolution, change the setting in Windows Media Player, Tools>Options>Rip Music (uncheck copy protect my music). You can also change the default rip setting to Mp3, as opposed to Windows Media Audio. Then you would have to re-rip the tracks to your PC, as unprotected.
Make sure you delete the old tracks from the device, otherwise, it will always give you that error message.
Best of Luck.
