SOURCE: How do i set my Netgear Routers NAT type to open for playing xbox 360 games?
Ok in order to help you resolve this issue I need more information. Is this a newly setup router? Did you setup any type of security? WEP OR WPA these are encryption tools that allow only you to get onto your network.

I assume you know the ip adress of your xbox.
First of all check on your router to see if UPNP is enabled.
Then go to Portforwarding/Port triggering.
Then add custom service
service name: the name of how you call it. doesn't matter really
service type is UDP
start port 88
end port 88
server ip is the adress of your xbox
then apply and make another custom service
name it how you want
service type tcp/udp
start port 3074
end port 3074
server ip adress of you xbox
this should work
SOURCE: How do i change my NAT connection from moderate to open
This one is simple. Find the IP address that your Xbox is assigned by your router, then put it into the DMZ. This also goes for PS3 users who are having trouble with internet access.
SOURCE: how to change my NAT
NAT is network address translation is the tool that your modem uses to share a single IP address across multiple devices. For XBOX 360 these problems happen when your modem attempts to communicate with another players modem. First try to change your router settings enabling UPnP (universal plug and play) on your router. This step works in most cases. If your modem is running multiple devices try unplugging the other devices if possible and test your connection if it now gives you open nat than one or more of the other devices is causing the moderate or strict nat setting.

you will need to change some settings on the router.
reduce the MTU. if the MTU is 1500 then change 1365 also you will need to open the some ports on the router.

UDP: 88, 3074
forward it to the ip of your Xbox.
this should set the NAT on your xbox to open, not moderate.
