Question about Whirlpool GU2700XTSB / GU2700XTSQ / GU2700XTST Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Installing GU2700XTST , I dropped a screw inside the pump area

While attempting to put the 2 screws into the top of the dishwasher to tie it to the cabinet, I dropped on into the pump area at the bottom.

How can I remove the plastic parts on the bottom to allow me to reach the screw so it doesn't hurt the pump? thanks so much jo

Need to replace the fuel pump in 2005 kia sedona

The fuel pump is in the gas tank and access in inside the van between the first row and second row of seats. The access is covered with a carpeted cover and then another metal cover which screws into the gas tank. Then there is a cover top of the assembly.

You must use a brush and clean off all the areas before removing the pump or the dirt will get into the gas tank. Disconnect three electrical connectors and two fuel lines. Mark the fuel lines so you are not confused to put in the new one. The electrical conectoers are individually different from each other.

2005's do not screw into the tank, they have clips. The clips have tabs imbedded into the top so you know where they are located to disengage them.

The tank lifts out and the float mechanism requires you to live it up and then tilt and shift it to get the float mechanism clear of the gas tank hole.

Dishwasher wont push water around inside tub correctly something is blocking water flow to pump i looked for filter could not find

The units diosposal screen is probably clogged.
This is a relatively simple procedure that requires 2 tools. There is a screen behind the cutter in the built in disposal unit that gets clogged easily. You may want to order a new part before disassembly.
To disassemble:
You will need 2 sizes of torqs (star shaped) screw drivers and some patience in reassembly. Be sure to note how things are assembled before removing them. You do not need to unplug the unit to do this as you will be inside the unit and not around any exposed electrical components. Make sure the unit has been off for a while so that the heater element is cool.
  1. Remove the top rack by squeezing and sliding the plastic locks upward (on the ends of the rails) Then slide the rack out.
  2. Remove the bottom rack
  3. turn the center plastic retainer on top of the spray mast cclockwise (opposite most all other screws) and lift out main spray arm
  4. remove screw from back center water pipe (oblong flat 2 piece plastic unit on the back wall inside) and rotate it clockwise to release the tabs under the pump cover. Lift above a carefully move out of the way
  5. loosen and carefully remove 4 screws from the pump cover/ diverter/ screen unit and lift out exposing the top of the pump and motor housing (usually grey plastic)
  6. Locate the screw at the front left of the pump cover that holds down the disposal cover. remove the screw and note which groove the screen is in as well as the side of the screen the blade is on.
  7. Replace the blade/ screen unit or clean the old one (under a tap of warm water and with an old tooth brush) and reinstall it.
  8. Assembly is reverse of above. Note! Be sure locking tabs are under pump cover as before and you don’t drop the screw for the oblong water pipe!

My dishwasher was not getting the dishes clean, so i started taking the lower end apart to clean, got to a gray wheel looking object with a screw in the top which was recessed and still the wheel looking...

If there is still standing water in the bottom of the dishwasher, remove it with a wet vac then look for the missing screw. It might be in the vac.

If no luck, try using a good small stick magnet to retrieve the screw. These screws are usually stainless steel, but the alloy is in the low 300 series so they are still slightly magnetic.

If you pull the slinger/impeller, you may need to replace the pump/slinger mechanical seal, so proceed carefully.

When checking out the lid switch on my roper washer as jsrock suggested in another post, i heard a screw drop from the inside of that area which caused the lid switch to become unmounted completely. also,...

Top lid pull up. Look in seam between top and front cover. On each side you will see where top clips to front cover. Put a screwdriver in there and lightly pry up till clip releases. Front cover will now pull up and be removed, so you could get what fell in.

Difficult to pull door open and loud click coming from left hinge

I would check for obstruction in the path of the door spring areas. If appropriate, remove the bottom access panel (typically 2 screws); open/close the door in attempt to observe the inside bottom left and right for the clicking sound.

If not already done so, also ensure your dish-washer is raised of the floor a little bit; leveled and properly secured to counter top with 2 screws.

Kenmore dishwasher how do I retrieve a screw I dropped in the bottom?

Try turning off the power at the breaker box, turning off the water, and unhooking any connections. Next, remove the dishwasher from the counter, and turning it upside down. You'll want to shake it gently at an angle so the screw can drop free. This is a relatively hassle free fix if you can get it to work. If this doesn't work, you may have to remove the pump motor assembly and then the motor to access the area where the screw is lodged. The later solution will require you to pack a lunch. You'll be there a while. Be sure you know what you're doing before you begin disassembling. It's a big job.

Inside on the back of the tub, there should be a grate with screws that come out. Check for obstructions around the pump area. There may be food debris settling in the sump pump area

Maytag Neptune Door Boot Change

Remove 2 screws holding door hinge to cabinet and remove door.  Then remove 2 screws opposite these. Grab front panel with thumbs at area of screws you removed and pull outward with thumbs. Panel will pivot forward.  Remove panel from lower clips.  At top of exposed area remove 2 5/16 screws.  Remove brackets under them.
Open dispenser and remove 4 screws.  Careful not to drop in dispenser.  Remove dispenser frame assembly.
You can now raise top of washer to a 90 degree position.
Now back to front exposed area.  Grab boot where it contacts front and peel out of groove.  Also remove two screws holding light assembly and remove cover.  Remove all 5/16 screws holding front assembly and the ones on top area where it is on a bevel.  Remove front assembly by folding up and onto top.
Now we are at the boot.  Remove spring and wire assembly holding boot to drum.  Make note on boot position and spring position.  Remove boot.  Install new boot onto drum.  wrap wire around drum with ends at top.  Now the fun!  Hook spring to on end of wire and using vise-grips,  pull to other end to hook into wire.  It can be done,  honest.
Now just reverse to reassemble.  should be instructions with boot.   Good luck!
