Is your base near a computer or other electronics? Also, make sure your microwave is not on. I get static if I do any of those things.

I have Uniden DCX700 phone- how do I turn the ringer on and off?

The DCX700 is an expansion handset for several different Uniden phones (DCT746, DCT748). To change the volume of the ringer, press the Vol + or Vol - button with the unit in Standby (not making calls). There are three ringer volumes: Off, Low and High. Pressing the Volume buttons will let you cycle through the list. The volume buttons are to the left of Talk below the LCD screen.

You can temporarily mute the ringer by pressing Mute while the phone is ringing.

The manual for the DCT746 is here: http://www.uniden.com/content/ebiz/uniden/resources/ownersmanuals/DCT746Mom.pdf . All Uniden cordless phone manuals are available in numerical and alphabetical order here: http://www.uniden.com/scat/cordlessphones_mnl . The manual for the DCX700 handset (with registration information) is here: http://www.uniden.com/content/ebiz/uniden/resources/ownersmanuals/DCX700om.pdf .

I hope this helps.

The sound volume on the handset is too low. UNIDEN phone. help pls

Since you didn't specify the model of your Uniden phone I can't give you a definite answer, but on many models you press a VOL-up button on the handset during a call to increase the volume.

Select the model of your phone from the list beginning at
http://www.uniden.com/scat/cordlessphones_mnl
to download the manual.

We have an older Uniden cordless telephone-Model #EXI7960 that seems to have a very soft ring tone. How can we increase the volume of the ring? Also, is there an owners manual on-line for download?

The EXI7960 has two ring tones and two volume settings available. With the handset in standby, press the Volume up button. (The volume up and down arrows let you switch both volume and ring tone. So you may have to press it a few times to adjust the volume.) The display should show the changes.

Retrevo has the manual here: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Uniden-EXI7960-Telephones-manual/id/471dj498/t/2/ . You will need to enter a code to access the PDF.

I hope this helps.

I just have a question. We have a Uniden 5.8GHz cordless phone. Is there any way to turn the ringer off completely. My elderly mother is living with us and when I'm not home, I would like to be able to...

My phone is a Uniden TCX905 model.
Ringer Volume
Choose from three ringer volume settings (off,
low, and high). With the phone in standby(normal display), use button on center of handset. Press up arrow or down arrow to adjust the ringer volume.

Lost manual

Without the exact model it is difficult to find the manual.

Here the manual for 900 series/996:Uniden EZI996.

I also quote from manual:

Selecting the Ringer Tone and Volume

Base ringer on/off
The ringer switch allows you to set the base ringer on or
off. If you set the switch to off, you never hear the base
ringer tone.

Base ringer tone
Press the ringer tone button in standby mode to select one of 7 ringer tones.

Base ringer volume
Slide the ringer volume adjuster to set the base ringer volume.

Handset ringer tone and volume
Press the volume up key or volume down key (labeled as the volume/ /+ or volume/ /- key) in standby mode to select one of five ringer tones and volume combinations
