I downloaded drivers for dell E193FPp monitor. the only files in the download are 2 text docs, a setupinformation, ICC profile, and security catalog files. no .exe file. how do i install driver?

in most cases you will not need to install drivers for you monitor. These drivers are for windows XP and 2000 - so if you have a later version you should not need them.
For windows XP or 2000 you should have a readme file... if not then download the Dell drivers from
Run the program and it should extract to a place on your hard drive, and once complete it should open the location with the following files, E193FP.ICM, E193FP.inf, Readme.txt and Version.txt
The Readme file gives you instructions on how to install for XP and 2000

I can't install drivers for the Thinkvision L200p on windows 7. I went to the Lenovo support page ( and downloaded .cat,...

Is the video card a seperate card? Or is it part of the motherboard? You'll have to open the case to make sure. If it's a seperate card that will make a difference with the drivers being loaded.

I have HD samsung hm251hi and i change sata mode i bios to ATA to install windows XP in notebook dell inspiron n5010 so, i can't install windows XP so what can i do?

Windows XP comes without drivers for SATA controllers in AHCI mode (some BIOS call it "enhanced" or "native" mode). Please double check if you really set your BIOS to ATA emulation mode (sometimes called "legacy" mode), this actually should do the trick.

However, AHCI mode has some advantages resulting in small but noticeable better performance boost. Windows 7 and Vista support it out-of-the-Box, actually I'd consider installing Win 7 instead of XP, unless you really need XP due to company policies or (very) old software that runs on XP only.

For Windows XP there is a rather unconvenient method availabe:
  1. You will need a 3.5" floppy disk drive connected to your laptop, if you do not have one, you may be able to borrow it from somebody you know, or ask a local shop for help. You'll need the drive for XP installation only, so buying one just for this purpose may be too much. --- Note, the procedure is not supported by XP for other media, like CD.
  2. Put the driver software for your SATA controller on a floppy disk - the N5010 uses an Intel chip set, so check here for drivers suitable for "F6 during Windows Setup" method. The floppy needs to hold the files IAAHCI.INF, IAAHCI.CAT, IASTOR.INF, IASTOR.CAT, IASTOR.SYS, and TXTSETUP.OEM.
  3. While installing Windows XP, a message "Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver" briefly appears, press the F6 key now.
  4. Insert the floppy disk into the drive, and follow the on-screen instructions to pre-load the driver.
The remainder of the installation should proceed as normal.

Next page Select Networked Office Systems/Copiers
Next Page select Color ImageRunner Series
Next Page Select Color ImageRunner Series
From List select Color Image Runner Irc-3200

From the choices select the driver needed. PCL or PS (postscript)
Select either Setup or INF.
If Setup or INF file. Download the zipped file. Create a folder on desktop or downloads. Call it Canon Copier or whatever. Download the zipped file to this folder. Go to the folder you downloaded the zipped file to and double click on the file. When Win-Zip started and asks where you want the file un-zipped to enter a period (.) this will unzip the file to the folder you created.

Once the file is un-zipped if you downloaded the setup file run setup exe.
At somepoint in the setup process you will be asked which port you want to use. You will need the IP Address of the copier ( which can be obtained by pressing the additional Functions key on the copier, selecting report settings, selecting Network and print report. If the IP address needs to changed select additional functions again, Select System settings Key, Network settings key, TCP/IP settings, Check or Set IP Address here or select DHCP to get new address. Repower the copier if any changes are made.

At the which port to use select New Port, select Standard TCP/IP port and create new port. Enter IP address in the new port window.

If using INF file after INF is unzipped. Go to Printers folder and select create New Printer. Follow Printer Wizard. Create New Standard TCP/IP port. When the Wizard Asks for Driver, select have Disk and browse to the folder you created and click the unzipped file and continue clicking until the file installs.

Carefully read the instructions and just following the rules for download, you will suceed. If not, go to their support dpt. But don try to tell them what is wrong. Let them tell you. I downloaded a zip file to update my video driver, it contains, e196fp.icm, and e196fp.inf, can you tell me where I should place these files in my hard drive?

Go into Windows Explorer. There is a folder under c: \Windows called Drivers where all the drivers are stored. You may have to change the file types, because it is a hidden file and will not show up normally. When you open up Explorer>Click on Tools>Folder Options>View Tab>little circle that you unclick to see hidden files. Just don't forget to click it back after you are done. Good luck.
