I have a Kenmore 110.63032102 dryer and I put a pair of sneakers in it. It shut off and now it wont even turn on. What's wrong?

Drying a pair of sneakers causes the dryer to overheat and this causes the thermal fuse to blow. The thermal fuse is wired in series with the motor circuit and if it blows, power to the motor is terminated causing the dryer not to turn on. Disconnect power then Pry the lower access panel off with a flat-head screwdriver as shown.

Remove the hex-head screw from the lint duct bracket and remove the bracket. Remove the two hex-head screws from the lint duct and remove the duct to expose the thermal fuse on the blower housing.

Bypass the thermal fuse by disconnecting the wires and connecting them together. Insulate them properly and plug the dryer back in. The thermal fuse is indeed blown and needs to be replaced if the dryer starts. Do not use the dryer with the thermal fuse bypassed due to fire hazards. Let us know if you need further advice.

7005 dryer will not start when i push the start button

Welcome to FixYa.

I don't know how far you've gone since posting here four hours ago at FixYa but I can tell you 2 of the most likely reason your Asko 7005 dryer will not start.

The first place I'd direct you, would be at the back of the dryer to check the fuses, there are two 15A - 240V slo-blow fuses. In fact both possibilities will be confimed or dismissed at the back of the unit.

If you look at the back as I alluded to by the power cord you'll see two small gray disc/button looking items, these are the fuse holders. You should see this...

**Be sure to turn off the power to the dryer or unplug it from the wall before performing any service suggested here first**

To access and check the fuses, you'll need to remove the holders. To do this requires only a flat screw driver, or even a butter knife and a multi-meter or "OHM" meter to check them.

(Alternately you can switch the fuse with a known good fuse to verify if it is blown )

Insert your tool of choice into the slot in the holder and turn it 1/4 turn counter-clockwise (right) and the holder should be in the position to may require some giggling to get it out as they have been known to get "stuck" from heat.

Once out this is what you should be presented with...

If you remove this fuse from the holder and measure the continuity, you'll know if it is any good.

The other possibility I spoke of is the hi-limit cut out thermostat. It is also located at the back of the dryer.

This is what to look for...

I have kenmore front load dryer. wont do anything when you turn it on. was working fine then just stopped. is getting power. what could cause this?

check thermal fuse located in back panel. make sure power is unplugged before removing cover. thermal fuse is located near exhaust and it's coated with white plastic with 2 leads sticking out. with volt meter check for continuity, no continuity must replace thermal fuse, it cannot be reset.p.s. remove wires from fuse to get accurate reading.

I cannot get my dryer to turn on. Is there any fuses or could the timer be bad. I have power going to the switch but nothing turns on. Its a 2000 and the timer # is m460g. Thanks, John

This is called a thermal fuse located beside your fan in the back. Unplug dryer, remove back panel, little white plastic fuse with 2 wires running to it. Cost is about 10.00 bucks. Rate me if I am correct. Good luck!

When I first turn on my dryer nothing happens like I have a blown fuse. When I unplug and plug cord back in light comes back on and dryer either "hiccups" and loses power or runs for a half cycle before...

Turn the breaker off (or remove fuses) at electical box. Remove cover from dryer recepticle and look for loose wire(s) or other sings of a poor connection. If all good there, check for the same at the circuit breaker / fuse box. Also check that the power cord connections are tight where it attaches to the dryer.

Dryer won't start, is it the start relay switch or something more complicated

First verify 220 volts of power to the terminal where the cord attaches. If voltage is OK,remove the rear panel and locate the thermal fuse on the left of the exhaust vent. It is 1 and 1/2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide and white in color. Turn off the power to the dryer. Remove the wires from the fuse. Check the fuse with a volt/ohm meter set for ohms. No reading is a bad fuse. If you get a reading, check the door switch for continuity.
