I have the same problem. The four hot-buttons have not been working correctly for a long time. Now if I turn the power off, it is hard to get it on.

SOURCE: Sceptre X7G nagaVI problem

I had this problem with my x7g. I unplugged the vga cable from the video card, and unplugged the power from the monitor. Then, I held down on the power button on the monitor while plugging the power cable back, and kept holding down for 5 seconds or so afterwards. I then turned on the monitor and plugged the VGA cable in. It now works!

Check for a bulged capacitor. They should be flat on top, look for one, possibly two with a "bulge" on the top :)

My problem sounds equivelant: The problem is that it will power down after 15 minutes, then take 1/2 hour or more to power back up!I believe I have solved my problem with my X7G! I remember seeing a direction on the only direction papaer I got with it that told me to Turn off ALL POWER SAVING WINDOWS SETTINGS! I think the monitor is set to care for all the monitor/power saving itself. I am going to try it and will get back to you, or just try it yourselfs!

SOURCE: At start-up, Sceptre X7 monitor flashes on, then

I just found after hooking one of these Sceptres with the exact same problem up to a computer that already had a lcd hooked up and the computers settings were fine that if you go to the MONITORS menue and change the MONITORS time setting from 15 seconds to 30 seconds it stops shutting off ... don't have the slightest idea why that worked, but it worked so that's good enough for me.

Monitor will not turn on blue light flashing bottom right hand of monitor

I'm having the same problem. Had the monitor for almost 2 years and everything was working fine until this week. The blue light would blink, then after an unpredictable period of time, the monitor would turn on. Seems like it needs to warm up or something. I suspect it has something to do with the capacitors not charging inside. Somewhat disappointed with Sceptre. I suppose I should be thankful that I got 2 years out of it.

THE SCREEN IS BLACK ON MY SCEPTRE 17" X7 MONITOR. THE GREEN LIGHT IS ON AND THE SCREEN FLASHES.

Hello JELSMA3,

This means your inverter (back light) component is bad or going bad. It needs replacing. Not sure what they go for but I was told by someone they run for about $20.00 . Once your replace the inverter, your monitor will work like new again.

Good luck.

This board is out of my Sceptre X9G Komodo. The 740uf capacitors are clearly marked 25V. The 1200uf Caps are 10V. I ordered parts for mine to try. The darker 740 has a slightly "popped" top.
470 is about 10mm dia X 16-17mm long
1200 is about 10mm dia X 20? long
two leads on each about 5mm apart. They are soldered to the board.

0939a31.jpg This is the same problem I am having with my Speptre X20WG Naga Monitor.
The power LEDS are usually red in standby and blue in opp; but now they just go purple and nothing happens..no sound no picture. I called tech support and no dice they just wanted my money, but I think all we might have to do is change a fuse on the main pcb! As you can see the white arrow isnt really pointing to anything specific! I think the fuse is the lt blue component, but am not sure. This is all I can offer! If you gat any good tips or if anyone else finds a fix please email me pbj0327@yahoo.com.
Thanks! and good luck m007!

Yes, its not the bulbs, its the inverters that are build right into the power module and all that is wrong with that is one or more bad capacitors (bulging or burst) so don't waste $100 getting a new module from Sceptre, fix it yourself (if you have the skills and tools - which wasn't much - a new cap, some flux core solder, and iron, maybe some desoldering braid and then basically a little desoldering and then resoldering). I got lucky and only had to replace one 330uF 16V cap that was bulging and mine is all fixed. For more specifics check under the Sceptre 19" monitors where some very detailed repair procedures are posted.
