Question about Jenn-Air SVE47100 Slide-In Electric Kitchen Range

Jenn-Aire locked tight!

Dear electronic guru!!!
Jenn-aire door lock LOCKED! after self-cleaning - won't open, have unplugged for 2 days, etc, still is locked (hopefully clean by now), have never had an owner's manual, but have successfully oven self-cleaned before....
I turned the feature on, let it go for aprox. 6 hrs, it was still cleaning, had to leave and didn't want to leave that heat on if I weren't home, let it cool - locked and wouldn't open. Unplugged for 2 days, plugged back in, and lock still won't budge - I'll send biscotti if I can get it baked!!!!
Thanks for ANY assistance - Deborah

Re: Jenn-Aire locked tight!

Try turning the oven tempurature all the way to the right (past clean). That is what unlocks mine.

How to turn off self clean oven Jenn air slide in older model after it is done cleaning

the self clean cycle will run for 2-3 hrs and the door will remain locked for another couple hrs while cooling let it finish and wait till the next day basically if it still wont open (sorta common) the door lock assy needs replacing.

Jenn aire, After the cleaning cycle the door has remained locked.

This is an occasional problem for many brands. 1st, it depends whether you have a lever in front that locks the oven door or the door is locked electronically. If you have the lever, it is common for the lever to get bent too much to the right or left so that it does not (after while) come back to the full open position, yet it looks like it is fully in the open position. You will have to bend the outer part of the handle in order for it to travel the extra distance to fully release. Or you will need to lift the top (be careful if it is sealed burners;some sealed burners need to be removed before the top can be lifted or you will damage the burner tubes or the ignitor wires). You will then see a plate to the front of the range where the lock mechanism is located. Under this plate you will find the lock engsging pin or finger and posibly an electric selenoid coil ( basically a magnet coil that energizes the lock pin/finger). You must release this from the latch arm or latch hole on the oven door. This will get the door released and now you need to determine if the selenoid or the mechanism was at fault. There also may be a small switch that is turned on/off that is attached to the mechanism and this is the safety fail switch that sends the signal to the oven control to operate or not operate in clean mode. This switch could be stuck or internally fused in the on position. Hope you have the tenacity and skill to determine all this. Good Luck, Macgivor

I have a Jennaire range and the control panel no longerworks to control turning oven on etc....first the LED display had went out. Now no touch pads work!

The clock is a very common problem the only way you can fix the LED display and it also controls the oven...replace the clock

Jen air locked latch after cleaning

I finally got my oven to work properly by shutting off the breaker and resetting the main clock. Cured the always locked problem as well as the beep twice when self cleaning.

Have to repeat this every few months since the problem seems to come back.

Jenn air s136 stove won,t self clean

You've probably already read pages 34 through 37 of the owners manual for this oven. We had this stove in the house we bought and the owner wrote in his own directions, which seem to work fine:

1. Turn knob selector to clean.
2. Turn temp knob to clean.
3. Close and lock door.
4. Push enter button and turn dial clockwise to desired time.
5. Push enter button again.

You've probably already tried this, but just in case I figured I'd pass it along.
