You are not alone. When my PS3 is connected via HDMI there is a persistant crackle from the audio, I have contacted LG customer service, who are useless. They only advice was to give me a number for their contracted engineers. They charge £150 just as a call out charge.I am not prepared to pay that much money when the problem is not my fault but the manufactures. I would love to be able to get the TV to work properly but have come up with a temp solution. Switch the audio output to Av and keep the picture through HDMI.

Guys, I have the same problem; I own a ps3 and a westinghouse hdtv and when I turn on the tv there is an annoying buzzing sound as long as I am not playin my ps3, in other words buzzing sound stops only when I am playin ps3 on the tv's hdmi component. To get rid of the buzzing sound when Im watchin tv I need to disconnect one side of the hdmi cable either from the ps3 or the tv. I looked a lot on the web for a sloution but no, all I found was problems' please post here if you can find a way to get rid of this

Lg had a problem with this wiring loom being unshielded.Common fault and should be replaced under warranty/recall. I had mine replaced because the sound became completely crackling.

The lg tv trainers can not get the sets to recognize the information from the ps3 either. It has to do with the HDCP info being sent from the ps3. "they aren't speaking the same language" you will have to use the component output from the ps3 to the tv, sorry.

I want to hook up external speakers to my Acer H213H for when my PS3 is hooked up to it.

What method are you using to connect to the monitor?

If you are using the HDMI -> DVI adapter it does not support sound. HDMI does, but DVI does not.

If that's the way you are set up then all you need to do is use the HDMI -> DVI adapter for your video and use the regular RCA connections for audio.

You can set the video and audio settings in the PS3 with the "Display Settings" and "Sounds Settings"

That way you just use the red and white RCA ends to connect to a speaker system, the yellow won't be in use at all.

Connecting to surround sound system

Hi to connect your ps3 to your tv all you would need is a hdmi to hdmi connector which would mean the sound would come straight out of your tv. The sound comes directly out of the hdmi cable. If you want to connect the ps3 to an external reciver you might want to get an AV reciver with HDMI inputs. This would connect to your tv and you can switch channels to different sources connected into the receiver, also they come with very good seperate speakers so you wouldnt have to use you telly speakers and you can connect your directv box into it aswell.

Alternatively you can connect the audio phono outputs from your AV multiout connector on your ps3 (the cable should be provided) to a seperate sound system with phono AUX inputs, these are found on most soundsystems but check with whoever your buying it from. But this means that you cant use the HDMI output of your PS3 for video just the AV multiout video signal (which is a bit rubbish, so I suggest the latter solution.

Hope this solves your problem

Hum from speakers

I suspect an open ground or bad cnnection in your hdmi cable to the amp from the sat.A hum is very indicative of that situation

Please help with getting 5.1 sound from my TV!

You must run a Digital Optical cable from your PS3 to your reciever. Then press your function button on your recievers remote until you see SAT/CABLE on your recievers display. Next go to your PS3 settings and go to Sound settings, then Audio Output settings, and select Digital out (OPTICAL) then your done. This is the only way to get true digital sound from your PS3 to your reciever.
