gain access to the heater coil and measure continuity although this is an intermittent problem. So also try heating the coil during this with a heat gun and also inspect for broken heater coil which sometimes completes the connection.

Any progress yet?
Older GE dryers are notorious for broken heater coils.

Your dryer has a double set of heating elements
themobilian_2122.jpg
1 side of the coils is probably broken and you are getting half the heat.
This is making the dryer take longer to dry them clothes.
themobilian_2123.jpg
themobilian_2124.jpg
Air restrictions in the dryer and vent can cause the heater control to shut down quickly also.
If you have a bad breaker the power will sometimes work and sometimes not.
themobilian_2125.jpg
If all of these are good you might have a problem with the timer.

Most of the GE timers have leaf switches in the that get a burr on the contacts. The come apart simple enough.

GE DRYER MAKES A HIGH SCREECHING NOISE WHEN DRYING BUT NOT EVERY TIME AND SOMETIMES DOES NOT START TILL HALF WAY THRU DRYING OR SOMETIMES NOT AT ALL?

More than likely a bad wheel and or drum support. However there are a lot of different GE dryers so the model might help to narrow down your problem. The model number should be inside the door of the unit.

first things first. if any dryer regardless of brand takes 2-3 hours to dry cloths 90% of the time it is your exhaust duct. take the exhaust duct off the back of the dryer and dry some clothes if the clothes dry fast then you need to have your exhaust duct cleaned. either DIY or call a professional
if it still takes a long time to dry then it could be the thermostats or the thermistor.
but in my experience its normally the exhaust duct.

My dryer dosen't dry my clothes

Check the exhaust tube for obstructions. If this is a gas dryer it needs airflow coming and going through that tube. This is always the cheapest, easiest first step.

GE Profile Electric Dryer Low Heat Problem

You may want to remove the back of the dryer to see if all of the element is glowing. Sometimes the element opens and then welds itself to the metal case, which would cause a partial, but not total loss of heat (slower drying time). If that is the case, part of the element will be glowing, and part of it will not.

Remove the rear vent and run a load on time dry for 45 minutes.
If it dries, repair your exhaust vent.
If not, replace your heating element.
