if you have a motherboard driver cd try to install from it or else search in the company website of asus to get the driver for the operating system you want .sometimes driver may not installing since you installed the driver which is not supported in that case uninstall any drivers installed for audio and install the recommended driver
Drivers don't expire. Probably what you wanted to say: your OS was updated with a service pack and the driver you have is no longer compatible (extremely rare but it happens). Go to the manufacturer's site - http://www.asus.com/Product.aspx?P_ID=vddABl4wQXZXLyQY&content=specifications - select your OS, select the audio driver and get the latest version.
