Push down on the blue switch that activates the cleaning system. The switch should be flush with the rim of the cleaning well in order to release the razor.

Charger arm will not stay locked in place to charge the razor

This is a common problem for older cleaning bases. The part is worn out. You will need to replace the upper housing of the cleaning base. You will find this item available at See link below

If repairing the unit is not your thing, you can replace the entire unit instead. See item linked below

Can't get the 7526 cleaning arm to stay down on the shaver for charging, cleaning, etc. Is there a sequence e.g. hold the arm down then select a cycle, or select then push down? What is the blue button...

The locking mechanism in the arm is broken. This is a common problem with your model. To repair it you will need to purchase a replacement part. You will find the part at See link below

If repairing your existing clean and charge machine is not an option, you will find the entire machine available at the link below

I replaced the cleaning liqud cartridge but it shows the red light indicating it is empty.

here is the solution..follow the steps please..

Thanks in advance for rating me..Regards
  • Replace the cartridge in the base station and close it.

  • The indicator light should cycle then change to green. If it doesn't then unplug the base station, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in.
  • Press the lock button to clean the shaver. If everything went well it should start cleaning like normal.

The cleaner mechanism will not lock in place when the razor is placed into the cleaner.

You can check the little catches that is made of stainless steel, and see if you can reshape them slightly to catch and lock the shaver again. Sometimes they can become a little out of shape/bent from pulling the shaver out of the cleaner base. You can try to use a screw driver to carefully push the spring catches back in shape.

    Are my batteries dead?

Make sure the contacts on both the razor and the base are clean. even a small particle is enough to create an open circuit. You could also test the base for power with a volt meter then check if you have resistance in the razor itself by switching the meter to the ohms selection. The batteries can be replaced also and this would be a lot cheaper then buying a new shaver. If you open it up you will find nickel cadmium rechargeable cells. Pick up some new ones of the same size and swap them out. You will need some soldering skills here as you will have to solder tabs on the new cells to make a new pack. If you need any help with any of these answers feel free to contact me and I will explain anything you need assistance with. Hopefully its just a little buildup on your contacts. Hope this fixya!

    Cleaning base

I have been shaving with electric razors for 48 years, and the Braun 8595 is by far the best one yet.
I have had the problem of the refusal of the cleaning station to recognize the level of fluid in the cartridge, three times over the last couple of years. It seems to relate to a build up of shavings in the unit. To get it working again I inverted the unit, and carefully flushed water via a small tube, back through the 1cm diameter hole in the underside of the open base. Of course, the unit must then be thoroughly dried before use, or the sparks may fly. Does anyone know how to dismantle the unit for a safer and more thorough clean?
