Question about Xerox DocuColor 4LP Laser Printer

1 Answer

Can ping printer but jobs not received

Have Xerox Docucolor 4LP on a home network with 3 XP machines on a standard ethernet router, bridged to the net

All three machines can ping (via ipconfig) the Xerox without packet loss, but only one computer(PCStudy) can print to the printer, and only through the LPT1.

The other printers cannot print anything, tried configuring ports through COM1 and COM3, Xerox is set at, unique and static. The router recognizes the printer and all three PCs. Installed drivers on the other machines and they will print only if PCStudy is up and running. Any ideas?

Re: Can ping printer but jobs not received

Have you checked your firewall?
Often times, even though you can ping the printer, the firewall will block the data going to the printer.

I have got a Xerox Docucolor 12 printer, a Fiery X12, and a laptop running on Vista. I dont have any cables except the power cables and was looking for a list of everything I'd need to get it running...

There are 2 cables that go between the fiery and the printer, not sure where you can get these.
You will need to be running windows xp
connect to the fiery with an ethernet line
download the drivers, command workstation, and fiery remote scan from the xerox website
hopefully the fiery still has its software loaded otherwise post a request for a copy here.

When i print one document on my xerox docu color 4lp on the printer display's this message "U6-4 Cycle power"

U6-4 sounds like an NVRAM error and could be a bad board.

I think they probably be the Main System Controller Board 160K58571 or the Engine Controller/MCU 160K60530

How to hook n40 on a network

just add it to one of the router's lan ports..and after that access the tcp/ip protocol into the network card ...of the printer ..and choose to get an ip address automatically ..
This will add it into the network ..and all the other devices will be able to send jobs to its IP ..or just find it when you hit search for printer inside default gateway ..
If this do not work ..than you will have to configure the Ip and subnet mask ..and default gateway manually like this ..

the Ip will be the router's Ip +the number of the port if the router is .. the printer in number 3 port will be .. and the subnetmask will be : and the default gateway will be the router itself..

the dns servers will either be configured automatically and in this case will take the network's ones from the router ..or insert the ISP dns same as in the router ..

Xerox docucolor 3535 116-321 error

Unplug the ethernet cable, If it does not come up with the code then.
Search for something like internet printing turned on somewhere.
That's a freaky code that normally is associated with some odd ball print job being sent to the printer, or something trying to access the network address. It is a pain sometimes to diagnose.

6125N won't print in network

If you can address the printer through CentreWare then your halfway there. Is now possible to print a test print via CentreWare if that works look at your p.c, driver setup.
Good luck.
