Re: blown subwoofers

Have you verified that the amp output is OK.

I assume you have these 2 subs series or parrellel together, correct? In this case you may only have 1 bad sub or it could be the output to the 2 speakers is bad.

1. Disconnect these 2 speakers.
2. connect 2 GOOD speakers and verify the output is good.
3. if low audio, the amp has a connection problem or is defective
4. if audio OK, the amp is good but you still need to test the 2 speakers to find which is bad or verify both bad. Just connect them 1 at a time with the radio at low volume.

Re: blown subwoofers

If the voice coil is blown the cheaper and the only thing to do is too replace the sub. And if it was a new sub see if under warranty and see if they replace the sub
Probably audible distortion make them blow.
Check the crossover for correct settings. Also if you have them in the wrong size box

Can i buy bearings for the motor or can I buy a new motor. Would I be better off buying a new fan.

It is a simple job to replace bearings on fractional hp motors in furnaces and air conditioners and shop machinery. It is worth it once you figure out how to do it. It is as said before, quite simple.

Since you don't say what your 'fan' is, I assume its a little air moving fan with plastic blades and plastic shroud. If so.....toss it, its junk.

Where can I buy 2 UVWRF-2 fan remote controls?

First of all, why would you buy a Hampton Bay fan. That's just a store brand!! As for the remotes, if the receiver slides into the canopy, you should be able to find them in any fan store. If it is a built-in remote, Good Luck.

This fan isn't even worth fixing! When you're buying a fan, look for blade pitch or CFM's. Don't buy anything under a 12 degree blade pitch. 14 degree pitch would be better. Remember, you get what you pay for!

Ceiling fan pull chain connected but does not click on

There is a pull chain switch inside the fan termination housing. you will have to take the little cover off and remove the switch. it has 2 small screws with wire landed under them. Turn off the power at the breaker before working on the switch. take this little ****** out and put in a new one. you can get them at the Home Depot or equivelant. it don't matter if the new switch is a little bigger but it still has to fit. use some judgement here. wire it in the place of the old one, turn the power back on at the breaker and it should be ready to go. Presto.

The fan fuse 1.5A/250V is keep blown up as soon as

Unplug the fan.
Open it up carefully.
Look at the the wiring for damage or shorts.
Check that the fan impeller is free to turn.
If all of the above is OK then possibly the motor has gone? If so then it will probably be cheeper to buy a new one.

My Lakewood box fan fell over and stopped working

As the box fan is a simple electronic, I would take the fan apart and check the solder points. If one has broken loose or is cracked, simply re-solder the point. Test it and try again. Another suggestion would be to go to your local hardware store and find some appropriate L-brackets to secure the fan to the sill while still maintaining the ability to remove it and close the window. A little human ingenuity can probably outsmart a cat. ;)
