1. First check up your speakers. You may plug it to
other sound output like other computer to find out
if this is still ok.
2. If 1 is okey, then you have to reinstall the sound
driver software of your sound card thru a CD. If this
is not available, you can get a download from the
internet. However, if 1 is not ok, then you have to
get a replacement.
3. To get the download, get connected to the internet,
and type at the Search engine blank ( Free down
load for Sound/Audio Driver software) and left click
at it. You can select the download site and follow
the instruction for you to get the download.
4. At your PC, open the download software driver, and
follow the instruction to get it installed.

  1. try to reinstall your sound driver...you can find this driver on your motherboard CD or you can download this driver from your motherboard manufacturer website....
  2. try to connect speaker on another system, if it works on another system it means that your speaker in working and there is no technical fault if your speaker is not working it means your speaker need a repair..

My compaq netbook no sound coming out only headset is working

Its not the fault of the sound card, only the speakers are damaged. Contact the service providers to repair up the speakers of your laptop.

Sound as gone off the laptop

Not uncommon with HP laptops. Usual faults are network cards that suddenly die, graphics chips that unsolder themselves and (less common) the sound chip blowing.

I'm assuming you already checked if the sound has not been muted first?
You have up to date sound drivers

Test by connecting external speakers, if they work (and you have the sound unmuted), it is the internal speakers in the laptop that are at fault and will need investigation. If the externals do not work, then the sound chip is blown.

Apart from replacing the motherboard, you have the option of getting an external USB soundcard and running that to speakers. A bit clumsy, but you will get much better sound quality

My left side speaker is not working. I plugged in another speaker to the sub output (the plug not working) and got nothing, which proved to me that the speaker wire and speaker itself is not faulty. ...

could be the sound card or its driver. Check your sound properties and make sure the correct set up is selected like 2.1, 5.1 adn 7.1. Verify that the volume levels are balanced, and if nothing helps, reinstall the video driver first. If this does not resolve it, might be a good idea to test the speakers on another system just to confirm they are all ok. If that works, you may need to get a new sound card, or test the card on another computer if possible to confirm if it is at fault. Hope this would be helpful to you.

My computer speaker is not working

To determine if the speakers are faulty or the computer, plug the speakers into a stereo player. If the sounds come out of both speakers then they are OK and the fault is with the computer/s.
It could be software or hardware fault (ie. the audio card).

One sound channel not working on an assembled, IBM type machine

This sounds like the cabling from your computer to the Creative amplifier is at fault. Try replacing the cable(s).

One speaker not working

Left/Right balance can be adjusted in the "Sounds and Audio devices" in Control Panel. If the adjustment is not the issue then the soundcard is at fault.

One speaker works only

As long as the jack you are using fits snug into the port, they will be the right size. I am sure that they are the same size. As for the jack port, some can be finicky like that. It is more than likely your sound card that is at fault. You can check the connection on your card by removing it with the computer off and inspect it for a loose connection within the jack port and around it. Plug in the speakers slowly and see where it is not contacting. Some do it yourselfers can fix this by replacing the port or re soldering a bad connection
