Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 does not turn on anymore

I was on a trip and had the camera on top of my bag it dropped about three feet to a hard floor. Since then we have been unable to turn the camera on. We charged the battery completely and it still does not turn on. Any suggestions?

Opening the device might help, check the connector of the battery if still connected. The drop may cause lose connections, may also happen to have a crack board... ^_^

Dropped T3i.

Its a DLSR so you can not do any thing at home. You need to visit a canon service center and then they will open the camera and check the circuit board is broken. cracked during dropping or not. And they will repair it.

My Nikon d40x is roughly three years old and the lens has had to have been repaired twice due to it being dropped. Lens is working fine though now. Yesterday i was getting out my car and the camera fell...

Time for some "tough love"...suggest you buy one of the new Pentax point-and-shoots that are especially made for people who continually drop their cameras. This one can be dropped from 3 feet and still work. Leave the good DSLRs to the rest of us.

Location of fuel relay switch

The fuel pump shut-off switch could be in one of three places. #1 behind the right front kick panel cover.#2 behind the left front kick panel cover.#3 near the floor tunnel on the passenger side where you put your feet. I have seen people bump it with their feet,or car wash people bump it with the vacuum cleaner, tripping the switch and causing the vehicle not to start. To reset the switch, simply push the button down at the top of the switch, and you will feel a "click" when it is reset.

Sony DSC-T200 Dropped on floor - grinding noise

joy,

thank you for using fixya.

the zoom and focus assembly is at fault, the grinding noise and shacking is a result of s de-railed plastic gear.

if the camera is still under warranty have it serviced, take note that if the gear is broken and not de-railed, mounts may be broken also.

here is an example of the assembly.

hope this helps.

Camera will not turn on sucessfully. Says "Turn Off and On Again"

This is not an elegant solution, but it seems to be working. (I might have read some one else mentioning it for another brand of Samsung camera). I hit the end of the camera where the attachment to the computer gets plugged in against the palm of my hand pretty hard about 6 times. Then I tried it and it worked! There is some logic there since it started having the problem right after I put it down on a soft surface from about three feet.(Ididn't really drop it, but tossed it there - gently, I thought - because my hands were full and I was starting to lose everything). In the future I will treat the camera a little more gently knowing that mechanism is somewhat easily knocked out of adjustment.

Can't take picture

I read that there were two solutions people had used. The first was banging it on the table. I tried this twice, not too hard, but it didn't work. I dropped it on the carpet from about two feet, but that didn't work either. I was afraid to knock it around any harder than that. Then I read the second solution, which was to hold the lens and turn the camera off. I did this two or three times and it started working again. It's still working as of the next day.

Airbag light staying on

You need to use VagCom (the Audi diagnostic software - available for free at www.ross-tech.com, and you'll need to buy a cable from eBay), and you can find out which bag is tripping the light. If you have side bags in the front seats, chances are it's one of those - moving the seat too far back or down can strain the connector under the seat and cause it to open just enough to trip the light (happens on the Audi A4 all the time - mine happened three times before I fixed it for good). Once you know which bag it is, you can fix it. If it's one of the seat bags, zip tie the connector tightly to hold it together. Under the seat, the airbag has its own separate connector, and it's yellow (by law, all airbag connectors are yellow). Zip-tie it tightly without pinching any wires, then turn off the light. You should be good to go after that.

FinePix A500 Fuji camera "focus error"

Check out this link: www.digitalcamera-hq.com/digital-cameras/fuji-finepix-z1_question.html?qid=4289
After the basics, try dropping the camera on a carpeted area from about 2-3 feet. It worked for my Fuji Finepix A500 and 90% of the responders on the link. Everything on the web said it would cost ~$100 to fix. I was in the process of researching new cameras to buy and had nothing to lose by dropping it on the floor.
The error may be caused by debris in the zoom mechanism preventing it from working. Dropping the camera loosens the debris and voila!
