install mouse software then restart
right click my computer properties
hardware and then devices
then right click mouse driver and click update driver
if mouse does'nt work after that then it won't be compatible
The original driver that came with the mouse is useless in Vista. You can however get the basic functions to work if you make sure that the mouse settings in the "Device Manager" are set to show that you are using an "HID" compliant device. Also, in my case, when I tried to install the mouse on my laptop, it was showing up in "DM" as an "other" category as an "unknown" device. I just selected the "unknown" device, clicked on properties and updated the driver using the automatic function and that got mine working for me. Once I succeeded to get the mouse working, the "other" category dissapeared. I do not know if it switched to the "mouse" or the "HID Devices" category nor do I care now that it works.
** DO NOT waste your time looking for the old driver or a new driver! There are no updated drivers or software for this mouse to be used in Vista nor will there ever be. That info come straight from Micro Innovations.
Good luck and keep trying different settings in Device Manager until you succeed.
This mouse does not require a driver. It works with the innate Vista driver. This product originally shipped with either iTouch or MouseWare, which
are not compatible with Vista. I strongly recommend to uninstall
iTouch and/or MouseWare prior to migrating to Windows Vista. After
iTouch and MouseWare are uninstalled, the basic functionality of your
devices will be provided by the Windows native driver.
