sounds like it over heat....try to take a fan and clean it you need to cool it down a bit for it to work wait a day or so when you put it in a cold breez it should do the trick

i get same problem, this should work:
turn the main switch off at the back, then hold the eject button then turn on the switch while still holding the eject button. fan should go at max speed then it should die down after 20 secs.
didnt work for me but it should for you.
If the
system turns on but then turns itself off, beeps at you and flashes it's lights
at you then you have over heated the system. The GPU chip has probly pulled
itself away from the board. This will require you to diassemble the PS3...
