When I logged in today to Call of Duty 4 my ranking for xbox live changed from a 17 down to a 9. I do not know what caused this problem or how to fix it.
I have experienced the "disappearing" ranks as well. I found out that the trick is to exit multiplayer to the single player screen BEFORE you turn off the system. This saves the progress and i havent had the problem since.
my call of duty ranking went from 38 down to 1 and at the xp summary the status bar is goin right across my screen and all theses numbers are going up like a counter W.T.F?
i have also experianced simular problems with call of duty 4, i was playing a team death match game when i where abruptly disconnected from the hoste, eversince then my rank was taken down to 1 and it now says i need 8624352153 more xp to more up rank, any suggestions please.

Hmm i am a big call of duty fan on my fourth prestige ive never heard of this problem. Call of duty 4 (COD4) has been having some network problems lately due to a lot of people getting x box live accounts. I assume that what your experiencing will fix itself but if it doesn't call x box customer support 1-800-4myxbox hope this helps.

MY rank went down from a 54 to a 46 in my second prestige. When i started playing a gain i went back up to 50 and i shut my system off and turned it back onn, it went back to 46 WTF ?
I have the same problem. I was a level 47 then 3 hours later when I went back on I was at level 39. And to top it off when ever I level up after this I go up of course, but when I turn it off then on again its 39 when it was 40.
yes i have this problem and after doing some reserch i have found the problem to be that i am using wirless. I am going to change it to wired connection and ill let you know if this helps.
