Re: DISK CANNOT BE READ
1.just take it out for a min and give a good wipe and without spittin, blow inside the umd tray 2. IT IS THE LENS!!!! Do they have any psp lens cleaners? 3. i think this is a common problem...send it to sony

Take a can of air and gently blow some onto the laser in the drive.
Then go ahead and try a few of the umd's and see if the psp reads them. If it still doesn't read them then the drive is bad and needs to be replaced. if it reads them then that means dirt was on the laser and interfering with the UMD.
The best way to check if the memory card has the problem or the memory slot is bad is to try a different card and see if the PSP will read it if it reads a different card so the old card is bad but if it wont read a different card the slot is bad and need some repair........
if it doesnt read the disk,you may want to open it up (but voiding the warranty) and clean the UMD drive. if it doesnt read just one UMD,it might be the disk. if cleaning the UMD drive doesnt work,you may have to get a new drive,or a new psp.
