Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27FS100 27" TV

Sony Trinitron KV-29RS36C

Picture goes away but audio stays on. I turn it off then on and picture returns and can stay on for hours. Does the same thing with DVD or Video Games. It can work fine for days but this evening there's no wining the batle! TV is a 1997 model.

More than likely there are numerus bad solder connections in the set. give the set a light tap on the sides and see if the picture returns, if it does locate and repair bad solder connections. most of them may be found on the G board. the A board may have several as well. in the past I have seen the delay line have the bad solder which drops the picture out.

i'd say your tv is unhappy.

unplug for 10 min..and see if that resets it.

Check the base socket, and the problem is not clear from your post, is the picture in focus when it appears at first? If it is not in focus and faint, changing the crt base socket will fix the problem
