Screen has got smaller on the sides, Tadi Brother said to go into menu and make it bigger, don't see any menu buttons. only an on and off av 1 and av 2

the menu mentioned is the on screen menu you are looking at the wrong remote as what you describe has no channel selections or volume control which you need to scroll around the on screen menu
when you get the on screen menu you will find an aspect ration section
alter that to fit the screen --ok exit

Jvc av-27432, the picture on this tv is very dark. even when you turn the brightness up all the way you can't seen any detail if the program your watching is taped at night or in a dark room. is there any...

There is a way to adjust this but it requires removal of the entire back cover-----YOU HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO THIS AS THE SET HAS TO BE HOOKED UP AND TURNED ON!

IF the problem occurred over a period of time you have a good chance-----if it happened suddenly--you have a problem in the set.

With the back removed locate the HIGH VOLTAGE TRANSFORMER- it will have a large red wire coming out of the top of it that snaps into the top center of the picture tube (this is the anode lead) DO NOT GET ANYWHERE NEAR THAT LEAD WITH THE SET TURNED ON---ABOUT 25 THOUSAND VOLTS IS THERE

IF YOU LOCATE THE TRANSFORMER(ABOUT THE SIZE OF YOUR FIST) IT WILL HAVE TWO CONTROLS ON THE BACK---the upper one is Focus and the lower is SCREEN

With the set on turn the lower control (Screen) slowly to the right until the brightness comes UP---DO NOT TURN TOO FAR OR YOU WILL GET TRACE LINES AND THEN THE SET WILL SHUT OFF!

If adjusting the master screen does not solve the problem---you have a circuit problem and the set may or may not be worth fixing. Usually if the picture got darker over a long period of time--just adjusting the screen control up A LITTLE will restore things to normal.

I cannot tell you how important it is not to touch anything in the set---keep one hand in your pocket and use the master screen slowly.

Let me know what happens and if you have any questions ask before you attempt this.

Regards, SD TECH

Yellow blinking light then turns off

My $500 80gig (old model, four ports and backwards compatibility) PlayStation 3 turns on, but doesn't show any audio and video. One day I was on the menu screen and all of a sudden the screen froze but the audio was still OK. After that I turned it off and then turn it back on, but i wasn't getting any video and now audio. I tried AV, component and HDMI cable, but still doesn't work. However, after an hour of keeping the system turned off, the game works back to normal condition, but soon it repeats the same problem of the screen freezing. WTF! I already know the holding-the-power button technique, but i still get nothing. HELP!

Re; Model # AV27765

Wait one second here if the ic wasent producing horiz drive you wouldny be getting any picture.. Your saying the set is floating the picture side ways?? your gonna need a scope to see where your losing the horizotal sync pulse from my friend.. No insult intended but if you have no horizontal drive there would be no High voltage therefore no picture.
