I am having problem communication with the printer through the COMM port. When I send some jobs to the printer, the jobs were displayed in the printer queue and then gone. It looks like the jobs were sent to the printer but nothing came out on the label.
I couldn't send the command "^default" through COMM port.
I did try to hook up other LP 2824 printers with the same computer and they work fine.
Is there anyway to get this to work or anyway to reset this printer to the factory default?

comm error could mean numerous things is the phone line cord your using new? do you hear it dailing or a dail tone? are you on dsl as far is Internet these use filters that can mess with communication.Does it use standard dailup to send faxes
Sounds like a driver problem. Some printers require eoj (end of job) character & will wait forever.
Do a test print (search internet on how to print status page- usually button press combo). If you get a printout, you know the print engine is good.
If the printer is able to parse text, then try sending an ascii test file & see if anything prints. This will tell you whether it's a comm issue or rendering issue.
If the printer doesn't react when you send a print job to it (either prints, or displays an error code on the display) and just sits there doing nothing, it generally means the print job didn't get to the printer. Check your communication settings. The printer comm settings must match the settings in your software. The default comm settings on the printer are:
Baud : 9600
word length: 8
stop bits: 1
flow control: dtr
This may me due to various factors. - The parallel port is only unidirectionnal. You should use ATcompatible for this port instead of ECP on the computer. - The driver sends data in topix compression not understood by your printer. - there is problem on your parallel port
