Ariens sport zoom 1232.It stopped running,will not start unless

The "START" relay needs to remain energized. Could be seat switch or other. See link below for wiring diagram.

check that the grass has not bunched up around the spindle and shaft in such a fashion that it is jamming the blade to the deck and acting like a brake

Sounds like the float/needle/seat are not closing to stop the flow of fuel into the carburetor when fuel is at the proper level.

You either need a carburetor rebuild or you need a valve adjustment. Either of these things would cause this to happen.

I own this model as well. The manufacturer issued a "cutting improvement kit" for this model number. The belt number has changed as well. The number you now need is # 07242200

it sounds like the brushes in the starter are fubar. the starter is the problem.

a lawn mower is not much different than a car, you still need 3 things to make it run: fuel, electricity, and a spark. you say it doesnt stay running, Before trying to make any repairs, ensure that you are using the correct fuel, also make sure the fuel lines are not leaking or crimped. if the lines seem fine, check the fuel filter and/ or fuel pump. though the mower is new, they can still have faulty componets.

Change the oil and air filter. Look for grease fittings on all moving parts and give them a shot.
