GE SpacemakerXL Microwave oven clicking noise

I have a GE SpacemakerXL Microwave oven, model # JVM1650. It just started making a clicking noise when it runs. The noise stops when the turntable is turned off. I am guessing it is the stirrer motor for the turntable. Can this motor be replaced without calling in a tech?

Spacemaker t/t motors are very easy to change. Removed the screws from bottom of microwave. the bottom panel will found towards wall. Mtr is in very center of unit. Should have 2 wires going to it

Ge spacemakerxl microwave jvm1650 vent is not drawing air

It is possible, you have removed and checked the filters, still the intake is low even without the protective filters. The system will need to be taken apart to find the opstruction, or as you said a hole in the venting mechanism.

It seems like the control panel is malfunctioning. The censorfor external vent fan may not work due to faulty control panel. You need toreplace the control panel, so that microwave will work properly. Replacing anERC is not a difficult repair and can be accomplished by the average do-it-yourselfoffer. Hope this will help you. Good Luck.

GE JVM1650 Microwave Making Loud Noise

hello Frank. Sorry to tell you that the magnetron is going bad and making that terrible noise. Since the inside of a microwave, even unplugged has up to 2000 residual and deadly volts of electricity I recommend either calling a pro or replacing the unit.

GE Spacemaker Over the Range Microwave Oven

sandy, i think your magnetron just went bad. can you see if there is a black spot or dirt accumulating on the microwave guide cover. it is the gray rectangular thing at the side of the wall . these black spots are from oil or food that have accumulated and has been heated over and over again untill it becomes carbon and becomes conductive. these carbon then conducts electricity to the metal casing holding the wave guide cover. if this happens, the tip of the megnetron would spark against the wall and burn the tip of the magnetron and short it out. if it has a fuse, it could pop out and might still save the magnetron. if there is none, then you could have end up with a bad magnetron. decide how much a magnetron first before you buy a new oven. i hope i was able to help.

SpacemakerXl Microwave Oven JVM1650/1651

The magnetron may be failing or overheating.

There is a known issue with many GE models.

This is due to a defective or loose magnetron causing electrical interference and disruption in the control circuit board.

If your magnetron was recently replaced, it may have loose mounting nuts or bolts or the wire mesh RF gasket was not installed or got pinched.

It may also need a new high-voltage diode and stirrer, and the cavity may be affected.

GE over the range microwave making grinding noise

This sounds like the stirrer. If it sticks or stops, the microwaves can damage or destroy it. You may have a bad stirrer or magnetron. There is an important bulletin that covers these problems. To see if yours is covered, see: http://207.234.249.73/mwd/ge_mw_mag_kit_bulletin.pdf If you need more help, please follow-up.
